I got the Fister D sport mufflers installed & an oil change by Darin at FD Motorsport in Brentwood...
...and I ordered 2 new (rear) Michelin Pilot Super Sports, my first set is plum tuckered out after about 8 months...
Since then, a nail went through and tore up the inner sidewall of the driver's rear, so I got another PSS 10 days later. The folks at Diamond Tire here were awesome about swapping it out for me for free. So, they've got a customer for life now.
Over the weekend, two great drives (back and forth both days Saturday & Sunday) to Monterey Rolex Reunion at Mazda Raceway - Laguna Seca

• Transmission Gear Oil (Swepco)
• Hand Brake Adjustment
• Fluid Temp check - (Verifying gauge accuracy)
• Reset Tire Pressures (34f / 38r)
• Lube soft top mechanicals
* a revisit of the PPI checklist, reviewing the car top to bottom, front to rear.
- Lastly, it looks like I'm due for a new set of front Michelin PSS to go with the new rears, the inner fronts are now down to 2/32. So, in my case, the rears and fronts wore fairly evenly all things considered.
I got about 11 months & 20,000 miles out of a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Over the year, I had 2 rear driver's flats and both occurred on Mt. Tamalpais and within 10 days of buying the new tires.
COINCIDENCE?! hahaha
In 2 weeks it will be 1 year with the gray frog. Love it.
At 60K miles, changed S-Belt, coolant tank, water pump, and thermostat. Then drove it a hundred miles for a test drive...no problems!
How hard was this service and how long did it take? That's a pretty good amount os work - did you have to take off a bunch of stuff to get to it all and did you have to do it from underneath?
A day late but drove 110+ miles to and from the Livermore Valley (CA) wine country. Three couples, all having a great time -- two vehicles of course! Fit three cases of fine wine in the frunk, and -- minus the wind screen -- could have put two more in the jump seats (1 case each) and a sixth in the backseat foot wells (two 6-bottle carriers). Weather was warm but not unbearable, 84 degrees, and we were able to pick up four Zins that won not only double gold at the SF Chronicle's competition, but also "Best of Show." Great day overall.

Nice! I just picked up my new to me 997.2 from Livermore yesterday!
Today I took my car to a coin-op for a wash, then detailed most of the paint scratches/blemishes on my car. I was able to get or reduce the appearance of most, so that made me pretty happy. Then I took a drive around the Bay Area and snapped a pic!

I also wanted to change out AOS but was worried that my coolant may leak from swapping out the water pump and t-stat so I held off on that for next time. Took me two days for the hardware swap out. Did not add coolant and checked for leaks until the third day, but this did not take long since I used the Airlift to refill... what a great tool to have.
Replacement began with the coolant tank on Friday but ran into some trouble. Using Pelican's DIY helped out greatly but could not remove the old tank....search for my thread about my problem.
On Saturday I replaced the water pump and t-stat but ran into problems where I didn't have the right tools...made a trip to HF to pick up a box wrench set....this helped me loosen the nut on the passenger side engine support bracket. This gave the additional space needed to remove water pump. Water pump took the longest time to remove all 7 bolts, especially the bolt at the bolt in the 3 o'clock position due to space constraints....getting this bolt back in after the swap out was challenging as well. The trick to getting this bolt back into place was to tape the bolt to the box wrench and guide the bolt back into its position. Next challenge was removing the existing water pump gasket as it was still connected to the manifold gasket. I could not get my cutters into this space to separate the gasket due to space constraints. To separate the water pump from the manifold gasket, I had to bend the gasket back and forth until it broke free. I recall there were 3 connection points on the gasket. This took all Saturday. Used USMC's water pump/t-stat DIY found in the Stickies tab as a guide as well as the S-Belt DIY.
Had to put the car on Jack Point to give me the space I need to work under the car. I am estimating about 20 nut or bolts to take off... Make notes where each came from.
Drove from Half Moon Bay to So Shore, Lake Tahoe via Hwy 88/89. First extended trip with some curvies. Came out of a 996GT3, so, really enjoyed the relative quiet and comfort of this kinder/gentler car. Way easy to go fast.

Woo hoo! That's where we purchased my wife's 2011 997.2 S Cab. Took longer than I'd hoped -- almost 4 hours total, with our fairly young children home alone -- but overall a great dealer experience.
We live in the San Mateo Highlands so get ours (I have an Audi Q5) serviced at Rector. I was just there for a 45K mile service and it went swimmingly.

Way too expensive and touristy these days, so we haven't been there in like 10 years, but my heart goes out to the folks who were affected by the quake.
Some pictures here straight up murder the cars. Before hitting the snap, make sure the camera auto focuses, which in this present day all camera phones are capable of.
