Yeah she's 18. I bought her an HJC Snell 2020 helmet for $150 brand new which is suitable for track days. Some organizations who host track days have loaner helmets but with Covid, they are opting not to right now. Helmet is good for karting as well. No extra insurance, you're generally not covered on the track, and track insurance isn't great from what I hear. Her car isn't the most expensive thing on the planet so I told her to take it easy, its not about speed, its about smoothness and learning how to drive well. She had a great time and learned a tonne.
Oil change & brake fluid change and good to go.

997.2 C4S Project car in final stages, wheels, springs, calipers done. Pictures aren’t great but photo shoot was done and will follow by Wheels Botique. Still haven’t even driven her since finding this 19K mile one owner beauty back in November. Paint correction PPF and ghosted side decal yet to be done. The wheels are 20x13 in the back with 345’s, yes I know I hear the purest in my ears but have kept all OEM.

Last night I finished replacing the starter! Meant to take it out and test it for restart when hot issues. Maybe tomorrow! The job was a handful. Porsche packs a lot of components into a small space atop these engines. Fortunately, the DIY thread always has excellent threads for guidance.
Took my daughter to a track day on Monday. I played support role as this was her first drivers training, but she progressed well throughout the day! Proud dad
Also, I need some steel brakes before I track my 997.
Wet track for the first half! Making progress Happy kiddo!
Just did a round trip from WA to CA. Stopped at Maryhill State Park next to the Columbia River for a afternoon-nap break, for both the driver and the 997.
Got my windshield replaced with Safelite AutoGlass! Sorry I didn't take a pic of the glass as I had an appointment to get to. I'll update later.
Has anyone applied PPF to their windshield?
In Orlando, there is construction EVERYWHERE, and I go through about 3 windshields a year in my other car (daily driver)

Plugs, coils, air filters and muffler mod.
I’m bummed on the muffler mod. I already had a sharkwerks X pipe but that was still pretty quiet. I was hoping the hack would give me more rasp and that tinny GT sound. I don’t think it did, more of a Honda sound which doesn’t make me happy. I guess I need to shop for a real exhaust setup, or maybe a center exit with a titanium gt3 muffler?
