Wayne Smith with little help from me installed orange Function First PDK mounts. 2-2.5 hr job. Immediate impressions:
-No increase in NVH while driving
-Slight increase in V at idle
-Gear changes in Sport and Sport+ in both manual and D are softer, not felt as sharply
-Gear whine heard when coming to a slow stop.
Going out on a drive with GGR on the 13th for further.

Swapped Multifunction Steering Wheel to Sport Design Steering Wheel
(don't like the non-intuitive rocker switches; never use the multi function buttons; don't like the spoke position or appearance--looks like the yoke of some beast of burden.
Changed orange turn signals to clear
(fairly easy to do...not sure why these don't get stolen on a regular basis)
Installed Porsche all weather floor mats
(don't know why there is not a rear set, but I guess it is because no one's feet can fit back there anyway)
Installed Porsche Aluminum Look gas cap
(Easy swap, looks cool, but its fairly flimsy plastic, have to turn past lock a couple of clicks to have PORSCHE logo facing upright).
Cleaned out assorted debris from radiators
(wow a lot of stuff can collect in there)
Used leather wipes to condition the you know what out of the dash and door cap leather.
(never had a leather dash or leather door caps before...they are not fading, cracking, or shrinking on my watch)
Detailed the engine bay
(so I can better admire the X51!)
Installed black license plate frame PORSCHE
Next Up:
If Suncoast can send me a Alu look foot rest that doesn't have a broken tab that will be the next install.
What I would like to do:
Get BMC filters
(Does this increase HP BTW? I have used K&N before and the psychological HP bump is kinda worth it to me)
Sharkwerks X-Pipe
(I don't feel the car is loud enough)
OEM Fire Extinguisher
(Like the euro feel of it and you never know when you will have to save a Lambo or Ferrari from self immolation)
Left field:
OEM Exclusive Powerkit Carbon Fiber Airbox (top part)
(they show up occasionally...one guy on german ebay let his go for EUR 750 tho)
Carbon fiber trim on dash
(A little too little bang for the buck however)
Carbon fiber door sills that say Carrera GTS
(Pretty much unobtainum, esp if of the illuminated variety)
Sport Bucket Seats
(If I win the lottery, I will pick up a set. They are too low though; the new Sport Buckets have a switch that lets you raise the entire seat now)
Gave the silver one its annual treatment of Opti-Seal for the upcoming Petit le Mans at Road Atlanta next weekend. Looks better in the parade lap photos that way
if the weather isn't great, I'll take the widebody Cayenne Turbo in the background instead.
If any if you guys will be there, I'll be in the Porscheplatz corral with my son on Friday & Saturday - come say hey.
Replaced the shock bump stops and lowered with Eibach springs. Did it myself and was quite the learning process. Overall really happy with the look, and expect I still have some settling to do here:
Going thru my parts bin, I found an extra gas flap for my other pcar. So I decided to retrofit it as the gas filler of the older pcar is smaller than the 997. So off I went to pump gas and took a photo, lol
Maybe dream up some excuse that you need to take the 997 for Home Depot run!
T
I wish...I had one run to get lumber so 997 was disqualified, that's why we have a truck.
But I am working on a secret project for the car in my mind...sometimes it seems like it might work
