It's a 2002 1.8T Quattro manual A4 that I'm married to (had it for ever, it's low miles, modified, well maintained and quite fun). Another member here (Luxter) made up this useful chart of transmission oils:

The 2 shaded rows are the 997 stock oils. I couldn't find Shell in 1 litre bottles except shipped from Europe.

I'm not sure what the stock fluid on the A4 is (could be Fuchs).

I'm surprised you don't like the Motul. As per the chart, it should work well when the transmission is cold. Fuchs looks inferior to both Motul and Shell as per the chart. I definitely like Shell better than the stock fluid, when cold or after it warms up.

I'm using all the same fluids on both the 997 and the A4 these days (Mobil1 0W-40, that Shell transmission oil, G12, ATE Type 200 brake fluid, ...). No problems with either car.

Thanks! The magic is in the clear. Flows out like glass and takes the gloss to a whole new level...

Congrats but you'll need to swap that buckle around. It's backwards. Check my comments on your other thread:

Those looks outstanding. What clear did you use? VHT also?

Installed AWE center muffler bypass pipes. The fit is just like it came from Porsche. Very impressed.

The sound is to die for. Whoever has a 997.2 needs to do the gundo/fister and the center muffler bypass. Wish I had it done sooner.

^ How long did the install take? 2 local shops are trying to quote me 4 hours to install the Sharkwerks bypass which is absurd.

I installed my Sharkwerks in about 2 hrs in a garage with normal tools and also with removing the rear bumper cover and heat shields.
