Am I the only one who hates the trend towards flat black plastic lower bumper inserts? I guess the idea is to have it look like a race car diffuser? I expect that this will be on all 2012 911s, so I will keep my 2008. After five years or so, I fully expect it will be gone and folks will ask "Why did we ever think that was cool?"

I don't mind, I have spent my whole life ahead of the curve and waiting for the rest of the world to catch up.

Saw the car @ the Cayman R unveiling Wednesday night and the black valences, in conjunction with the black CL's worked very well. It seemed to make the car look lower, and I think that it had the stock suspension.
Interesting treatment on the rear valence, in that it wraps around the exhaust pipes.

I think the black rear lower valance ties in nicely with the black side sills and front lip spoiler. It's a more integrated look overall.

I saw it there, too. The GTS really does look fantastic; both visually and as a package it works much better than the R.

I am with ya...but 1 positive is they clean up easy from road tar and do not show rock chips from the tires.

UH-OH. Same (excellent) dealer where my GTS is on order has a Turbo S and I'm actually thinking of getting it figuring a new 2011 911 Carrera Turbo S in the garage might just be better than a GTS in January or February. GT Silver Metallic, Stone Grey interior, grey top.
Any opinions?

To paraphrase Bob Hall… The Turbo S is a better car but the GTS is a better 911.

Buy whichever one stirs your soul.

If anyone is looking for one in Southern California, Walter's porsche had at least 2 GTS (1 coupe, 1 cab) available as of yesterday...
