OG - you seem nice but you arent 100% correct. Even in this statement. Go up 3 or 4 posts to my post and you will see that I said I DID read everything. You now state that I said I didnt read everything - where did you get that from? How old are you OG? Just teasing

Any ways life's too short to get hung up over this - just my 2 cents. I actually found this thread funny except for all the name calling that you and Amer participated in.

I hope you are having a good day and am interested in the new exhaust you are putting on.

But like I said everyone but the one ADD idiot is on the same page now!

What I found interesting are the suspension issues, and the fact that 500HP (well, 447 - still a ton) results in a 0-60 time slower than my 997.

I like the classic mustang in the vid a lot!
I can't believe Top Gear isn't smart enough to realize that the 447 RWHP is in fact 500 hp. Whenever you dyno a vehicle they give you RWHP, mine dynoed roughly 445 RWHP and when I upgraded to the Ford Racing blower it dynoed 588 RWHP which is roughly 675hp. Morons.

Ford is notorious for UNDER-RATING their vehicles, especially with the Shelby's. Lying about hp isn't an option - Maybe it's just what the british audience wanted at the time - a good stab at the dumb yanks and thier big cars. They hate us, even with the lefty pinko as president.

Definitely lots of morons out there OG. I was reminded of this when I went to see the latest Hollywood film "2012", slammed with people just loving it. The whole film is made for people with an IQ of 19, but they just loved it and LAUGHED at all the jokes because it was SOOOO funny.

This movie went on to rake in 250 million dollars and was highly rated in the viewer exit polls. I rest my case.

Top Gear isnt going to cut any American maker any slack. just like Jeremy hates Porsche, they dont like American cars either.

Jeremy doesn't like Porsche, but the other 2 bloats sure do. I remember in one segment they went out and ordered a couple of 911's.

The big problem with the Shelby isn't how much hp it makes, but can it use the hp it has. My buddy has a 08 with a 2.6 Metco pulley, Lund tune and a JLT CAI and the car is at 600hp right now. The car just turns the 285 F1's into melted rubber. The only cars that ever seem to put down good 1320 times are cars on D/R's or slicks. Most of these cars at the track run low to mid 12's but with 2.1 60 ft. times as they can't get the car to hook up. Now before you go telling me about Evan Smith and MM&FF, how many of us has his mad driving skills.

I take it your use ID at Para82 means you were or are with the 82nd Airborne..HUA. Former 25th ID (Light) trooper myself.

So have the new GT cars and even the new PDK 911s

Ring times have been discussed here ad nausem. The way the Vettes setup for the ring have been suspect. The GTR set ONE HELLEVA ring time too and we saw how that turned out. I have driven both the C5 and the C6 Z06. Its a fast car but it just doenst appeal to Porsche guys. The thing has LEAF springs for Gods Sake! It feels cheap and the seats may be the worst seats in ANY sports car.

And this is an example of the people you have to deal with. I went to test drive the 09 Z06. I had to go out of town to go drive it, they knew I was coming. It was out of gas, it had a smoked in smell. There was grass in the back where they had driven it to the golf course, the leather dash was ruined from a rain storm with sundamage (rain spots on the leather) I had a 09 AMG C63 with 1100 miles on it, the vette had 800 miles on it. I TOLD the guy I was a high end car buyer and I didnt want to fu@k around with all the games. So OF COURSE he has to call his sales manager! EXACTLY the game I didn want to play. He came back after an hour, with a deal for 89K for the Vette (MSRP was 81k!!) discounted 5K to 84K and
they were going to give me 40K for the AMG that I had just paid 70K for 6 months before.
I took the paper wadded it up and threw in on the ground and walked out. THATS the kind of IDIOTS you have to deal with at the Chevy dealer!!! There is NOTHING attractive about any of that. ON top of that the z06 is a marginal car compared to a 911 THEN they fall apart in a year and sound like a rattle trap.
I like the Shelby, I like any of these limited issue cars. I would like to have one in the garage. AND a New Camaro. Probably not the FORD SHO howeverl

That's true Dave. What makes the Shelby unique though is you can drive it comfortably to work and on the weekends you can throw on slicks and a couple minor modifications and you have a 10 second car. Something to be said for that. You can't run anything less than sticky 305's with this power no doubt about it.

LOL, I thought you were serious and was going to post this below!

Are you serious! A FORD SHO is a POS! I have one of the hottest Fords built, by Roush, not off a pathetic Ford assembly line. Here is the link.

Point is, that my 911S is on a different level from my P51, in every aspect of performace, quality, etc, etc. and my P51 would run circles around an SHO. Trust me, dont do it, you will be miserable.

I bet you didn't think there were some Mustang guys on here as well...

I'm eying the new Coyote Stang coming out...itching to spend less money and get back into a V8 again. From my understanding the guys at Evolution Motorsports had one on a dyno and it pushed out 400hp at the wheels!!

Who knows what kind of tune it had though, could have been some test mule with a a real aggressive tune.

That new Coyote engine has me really interested too. I'd love to get a nice 2011 black GT with red interior for cruising, might have to look into that next year. No way i'm going to sell my Shelby though and i've only got a 2 car garage so that's a problem.

I bet that new 5.0 V8 will sound nasty with a full exhaust. Interested to hear it.

Its going to sound glorious I bet. The 400hp rating according to sources is on a 87 octane tune with power in the 450 range with an aggressive tune with 93 octnae. I can't wait for the LA Autoshow all this info will be revealed.
