The steering wheel on the green cab looks funky. Could it have some kind of thumb-actuated paddles? As opposed to Tip-like buttons which can be used on either side to upshift or downshift. In this case, it looks like each side can only be pushed one way.

Looks better than I thought it would overall, but I still wish it didn't have so much Boxster in the front. Thought we got away from that once and for all in 2005.

Not crazy about either wheel design, but I could get used to them...unlike the lobster forks, which I loved at first sight.

The new look is good enough for me, and I like the new wheels and hardware (DFI, PDK, LSD).

In German car tradition, I will give PAG a year to sort out any potential 1st bugs on the PDK/DFI/etc. Then I will probably order an early 2010 997.5S, and try out the PDK myself.

Regards,

I don't see much change... maybe they're saving all the real changes for the 998. Any changes in the performance specs?

PDK Steering wheel is very close or the same to this that was seen on a Panamera interior shot.

I think so too. It's especially evident on the yellow cab. If you cover the car from the A-pillar back, it looks just like a 987. Not a fan of the lower curvature on the taillights either.

That has to be it. You can shift with even less movement than with paddles in the back, and you don't have to worry about going up or down on a tip-like toggle button. I think we'll like it. Porsche just could not do things like everyone else! Thanks MJones. I thought I was the only one paying attention to "details."

I see it in the Yellow and White cars. The circular hub, the 5 star fan..

No? Perhaps I'm just being nostalgic. I do like the facelift overall!

I like it, but I am pleased that I am not so impressed that I just couldn't get by with my old '08 any longer. The front changes are subtle and I can't say they are better - same for the rear. The extra hp and fuel economy would be nice, but I'll wait for the next gen to swap. I think my *** is mo' sexy.

Yeah, I think you are being a little nostalgic. Those look nothing like Fuchs to me. They look more like updated Sport Designs to me . . .

Overall I have to say that I like the look of the original 997 better, however the hardware changes on the 09 are beneficial. DFI, LSD, LED, etc. I could never come to terms with the 997 not having an LSD standard, let alone not even having the option. What's the point of not having an LSD on a 90K sports car??????

Agreed, I like the look of the 997 better. Debating whether the paddles are worth making the move. Looking forward to driving one first.

I think the Mark I design was cleaner in the rear and overall. The new one is nice but it's more busy with the curve in the rear lens and extra angles. Getting a little Bangel influence maybe????The return of the red stripe on the C4S would be nice. Who knows...maybe it will show up.
I see no reason to trade my car based on looks alone.

MartyB: Nice C2S..very nice pic
