I haven't read through the thread...but I will say that I disagree with you.

Regardless of whether you're paying the bills or her, the property belongs to both of you (why else did you get married?).

If it's her ride, then she has the right to do with it as she pleases.

How long YOU been married? Check with your lawyer on the whole concept of "my money" in the context of marriage.

most likely. Do Gaymans have Cupholders? I know 911s didnt get em till our bodystyle and personally, i liked not having cupholders. Was an excuse to tell people they couldnt bring a drink in the old 964. Now with the 997 i cant...but if i am quiet about it, nobody ever finds them!

Default Depends on the transmission

If the car is a tiptronic, then no big deal. On my Carrera S, I try not to get drinks since a six speed is hard to shift gears while holding on to a hot drink. This is when I use my Range Rover.

No, there's probably just a CSI unit at his house, and they're questioning his wife right now...

i only drink water bottles/gatorade/vitamin water in the turbo and its a 6spd. If it has a top that can create a positive seal im ok with it, but starbucks coffee cups are a no no, even in my LX470!

I generally don't post on pathetic threads like these, but the part about "it's my car and I pay the bills" got to me. Get a life, and grow up.

I suggest that you tell her that you will be withholding sex until she comes around to your way of thinking!

somehow i think he would lose twice...she would keep drinking coffee in "his" cayman and he wouldnt get laid. I would say you can drink whatever coffee you want in the cayman, but you must take your shoes off and not wear any perfume and can not drink anything in the 997 nor bring any type of food into the vehicle. she can have her way in the porsche he gave her, but its his rules in his 911. If she doesnt agree to that...hell go trade in both on a GT3 and get the civic.

only kidding of course, that would be end of the marriage.

I told her before I gave her the car that there were no drinks allowed. We got in a huge fight and I told her that I'll trade the car in on a Civic if she doesn't stop getting coffee every morning. She's really angry and refuses to give in. Am I in the wrong here? It's my car and I pay all the bills. Do you guys think it's reasonable to ask that she not drink coffee in the car?
ever since we met, my wife knew i live for my cars, not her.... (i often wonder why she married me???) she NEVER eats in my car, drive it or dare touch it. she did barf once in my e36/8 m coupe. the next day, next to my e36/8 there was a brand new boxster S.... that's how i got into porsches.

arguing with your wife now is hopeless. you needed to establish your "priority"...

though my wife does use cars to her benefit. "if you dont do that.... i'll park my car next to yours.... if you dont do this, you can't wash your car...."

but you did say you gave her the car. then it's her car, why do you care. i dont care about my wife's car. she eats in it and drive over curbs, hits things, get scratched and lots of ding and dents. but it's her car...i really couldn't care less. but if my car gets dented.... WWIII would be imminent.

Imo the "Gayman" language is out of line. Perhaps you should step over to Ferrarichat to see the clever names they come up with to describe your car. You do all Porsche owners a disservice when you defame the owner of a car that is cheaper than your's, even if that other person owns a (cheaper) Porsche as well.
