Well if that was my nickname in high school it would have been based on how many times I beat the bishop in a month. Now that I'm in my 40s, that number must be down to around 100.

I don't recall him saying that.

It was Jakeman who said his was a nickname from H.S.

I'm still waiting to hear if it's sports related. (It might be and that could be why he hasn't answered yet. )

well, i guess ill chime in. i am interested to see what 500 means....got a few ideas, but nothing im ready to post quite yet. anyway....

my username started on audiworld as RedRockeTT. I owned a Red 2002 ALMS edition Audi TT. It was a beautiful car and fun to drive...but, not a porsche. I then moved up to a Red porsche cayman S and wanted to keep my identity so I just shortened it to RedRocket on another forum. Well, i traded in my cayman S for a 997C2S and although I have been lurking here at RennList for a year or so I never really participated cause the cayman section...well, it stinks. Anyway, I wanted to keep my handle "RedRocket" so I made sure my C2S was....red. well, not really....my last 4 cars have been red, and my ducati is red...im kinda partial to red....its weird i know. so..anyway. thats the long and short of it.

as an aside....my staff found out my username was redrocket when i was at work goofing off online and they alerted me to the fact that Redrocket is slang for none other than a dogs erect...well, you know. so, now i am affectionately known as the redrocket whenever they get agitated with me. ah well, there are worse things in life.

That's hilarious...I had no idea red rocket referred to a dog's 'wee-wee' .

Now I'm bummed that my username isn't mysterious like 500. Jakeman?? What kind of name is that? I should have used something more intriguing, like CRM114...

Nice... My sig name NickTTheGreek was my username at audi world... Had a TT QC as well. I have kept it as my sig, for old times sake, but have changed my username to dianic which is my 3 emails as well, at work and at home, makes it easier to remember the 150,481 (!) usernames I have all over the net.

Dianic is the first three letters of my last name and the first three letters of my first. Also the name of a company my grandfather started (who I am named after).

Okay.

Is it a personal milestone that you yourself have achieved?

And if so, are you rather proud of this achievement, or maybe not so proud of it?

Wow, read this whole thread! I see OCben called me out on page 18 or so.

Back in the day I was at a computer camp/school and we were told to go to hotmail.com and make an email address. So I thought, I always see "Clean_Me" on cars and I like cars so I registered that name. Mind you this was when hotmail had NOT been bought by Microsoft yet. I could have had practically any address.

But now as the Internet has become more corrupted I often think people might associate my name with a 'inappropriate' connotation. Oh well!

Yeah, I was wondering when you'd come clean.

Inappropriate connotation? ... Hmmm, you mean as in "come clean me - I'm a filthy rotten dirty bastard"? ..

Btw, I too have an early hotmail account that I still use to this day!
