Hi Chris,
auto light-
- Many thanks for the quick delivery and excellent packaging.
Quick question before I start to rip things apart…
ive had a quick look at removing the side panel (mines a RHDrive Aus car) - am I correct in seeing only two sprung clips at the front of this panel?
I didn’t ‘want to pull the door seal yet - the panel still seems very secure- as in are there more clips at the rear?
cheers.

PSA: (slight) price increase coming on Feb-1
Greetings. As you may know, I am a one-man operation. I am the sole design/production/quality assurance/shipping/support department of my outfit,
When I designed V2.0, I did the math and calculated how much the price should be to cover my expenses and also to have a modest profit on top of that.
In the meantime I listened to all your feedback, incorporated it and I think the product vastly improved over time.
But all of this - literally - came at a price: not only the price for different components, but mostly the time it takes me to make these devices. In fact, the time went up by ~50%.
The math tells me, that I should increase the price to $150 / unit (before shipping), but I feel, that this is too much.
That being said: I decided that the price (before shipping) will go up by $10 to $125 on Feb-1.
I wanted to give everyone, who is following this thread and is on the fence a chance to still get it at the old price before the new price goes into effect.
If you want one, please got to www.997research.com and get one by Jan-31

To remove dash side panel, pull door seal rearward as it comes off easy from the pinch weld.
You only need to free it for 10 to 15cm, and with a trim removal tool the dash edge just pops off easy - certainly compared to other similarly secured parts.

Very nice gesture to give everyone here a heads up, thanks Chris!
I know it doesn't give our cars an extra 50hp (who knows? I have dyno'd it since installing). What I know is that I haven't touched the command for my lights since installing this, which is super nice!
Highly recommend it.

I did the install a couple of weeks ago, and it is only those 2 clips at the front if I remember correctly. The panel in my car was really held in place very firmly by the seal, so I had the same doubts you have and getting it unstuck from the seal eventually did the job.
Thanks!

Sadly I can't help, I asked Chris to send the package to my in-laws in NY and brought it back myself when we visited for Christmas. I've been burnt before with crazy high import taxes compared to the value of the shipment so I didn't want to risk it again...

In France we have multiple that have ordered without issues with customs and taxes.
As we are the European champions for this type of stuffs you should not have any issues.
The bag contain only "a small plastic box" so no custom officer will be able to put a price on it (it's not an iphone with a retail price) ;-)
So no worries.
Installed mine yesterday, 30 minutes top with the time needed to clean the winshield after ;-)

I ordered my device from Chris in late November, but since my car was in a garage that was not close to me, I couldn't install until mid-january. i purchased the 2.0 version and for one reason or another, I couldn't get the adapters to connect to the car switch side. Contacted Chris, and he responded within minutes. We sorted through it and without hesitation, he suggested he swap it for the newer version (which has the Porsche connectors). Arrived quickly thereafter, and fits perfectly. Works great. Highly recommend and i am looking forward to not having to turn on the headlights manually. I still like some of the manual features of our older car though...this is a welcome upgrade.
Thanks Chris.
John
