If I had to guess, the automatics are the daily drivers

I drive about 15k miles a year. I daily a Cayenne for highway commutes and a JL Wrangler 2dr for city errands. The 997.2 gets driven about 2k miles a year, usually on pleasure drives.

Kinda. It’s a daily rotated amongst other cars but now that I’ve been WFH for 3 years nothing gets any real mileage.

10 years of ownership on the 911 come this April (iirc) and I’ve driven it from 33k to about 57k miles. So likely around 3k a year previously and the last few years killed the average.

Used to drive mine to the office daily because that's what I thought I should do. Self employed so not something required. COVID changed it all. Recognized that I could do just about everything from my home office so I'm probably down to about 2,000 miles a year compared to 6K to 7K a year prior to COVID. Good for the value of the car but having some degree of GTS driving withdrawal. Taking it out for a quick joy spin now and then to satisfy my needs.

Exactly. Life's too short not to.

103K manual Carrera Black Edition, bought with 50K May 06/2019. My only wish is that I could alternate with a grade 3-4 air-cooled week to week

I am fortunate to be able to drive my 997 4-5 days a week and then sprinkle in a couple of driving days with my 85 ROW cab. It used to be 50-50, but the 997 is getting more use the longer I own it. I only wish I would have switched back to P-world earlier in my life.

I feel cheated when forced to drive the family SUV!

I drive mine mainly on the weekends. I may do a week day here and there to work. But I have taken it on a few weekend trips since owning it... 13k miles in 2 years 😁

Usually a poll thread actually has a poll in it. OP you might be able to add one.

My wife's used to DD her 997 when the kids were little. Mine has always been a limited use car. Now the kids are driving and neither of our 997s are DDs. I DD an 84 928 Euro S.

My son DDs an 89 944 S2 (daughter's DD Audi Q5 in background).

Was my only car for 3 years. Grocery getter, errand runner, ski hauler. However my work commute is a 5 minute walk.

Got a Range Rover as I got too many little dents and dings from living in the city. Now the 911 is a treat to get in but by no means is it a sunny day only car.

I've worked from home for 19 years, so have never been able to relate to the "daily driver" thing. I take my 997 out most of the time when I'm driving, although if I'm going snowboarding or taking the dog somewhere I usually take the Cayenne.

I'm in the WFH crowd, and while I try to take the 997 out as much as possible it is a fair weather fun drive car and for DE's. My typical DD is a Mercedes wagon for the kids to throw as many gummy bears down the seat belt latch as they want. Since I live in Miami it's not always fun to take a sports car out for a drive and sit in traffic.

DD my 997.2 (70%) or my 996.2 (30%). Have put on a combined 65,000 miles since March, 2019 (41k on 996 since 2019 and 24k on 997 since April 2021)
