Need Help Reading a PPI
Hi All! I am looking at a used 997.2 that recently had a PPI and I'm looking for some assistance with interpreting the PPI (attached).
Any review and feedback would be much appreciated!

This is hard to parse. At least for me all the info on the left like the rev range count, etc is cut off.
is this a manual or pdk?

Terrible report - Hard to read. Over Revs listed is strange way never have seen it like thise----> and missing Over Rev Range #2 - #6 ?
Cam Shaft Deviation numbers look ok.

Assume a manual?
also it's a bit weird as the over rev ranges are all listed as Range 1 - the first two are at the same timestamp it's not like they were likely to be range 1's at different times? - so assume it's ranges 1 - 6 then I would say a hard No.
With this assumption the total operating hours appears to be 1985h.
Range 1 - 65K last at 1969 hours
Range 2 - 52K last at 1969 hours
Range 3 - 8893 last at 1969 hours
Range 4 - 10894 last at 1969 hours
Range 5 - 1397 last at 1962 hours
Range 6 - Zero
Some people might say it's strange that there appear to be more range 4's than 3's but range 5's in the last 23 hours is a pass in my book.

If this interpretation is correct or even close to correct, not a car I would consider.

What a horrible PPI, did they send pictures?
This is the car that popped up in another thread recently. The $55k price was meh, the $42k price is tempting.
One thing I would check is when the car was last sold or when it was inspected at this dealer via the CarFax.
The only reason for such a steep discount is 1) The 90-120 day floor plan financing clock is almost up and they are about to have to auction the car or 2) They know there is a problem with the car.
This car looks like a track rat, which isn’t a terrible thing.
Funny dealers don’t even care to make ready cars these days, car has a stud conversion.
If Tj40’s take on the DME is correct, damn, I would steer well clear of this one. It was beat on, even on the way to a dealer.
Also, if Tj’s take is correct and it has a recent Range 5, a money shift might have happened. I am always hesitant when I see cars like ours on tote the note lots or non-Porsche or German car used dealerships.
It might have been traded in somewhere because some people loose their scruples when trading in at a dealer.
Some type of “it’s a big company” or “it’s a dealer, so they screw others” is normally the way they justify it.
That’s why I prefer to buy from enthusiasts directly on here or PCA Mart.

Looks like by calculating the hours, Range 1-4 was just over 400 miles ago and range 5 was about 690 miles ago. That thing was rode hard and put away wet.
Any chance the PPI dealer and the selling dealer have the same ownership group? The ranges are wacky, never seen that before.
Interestingly, the car was serviced at about that same mileage in 2018. Not saying the dealer service did anything wrong, just that soon after or around the range 5 money shift, it went to the dealer.
The car then basically sat for 4 years then was traded in to a Chrysler dealer. RED FLAG!

Probably got scared off. Had their heart set on the car, paid for a PPI. Suspected the results said what we think they do and is irritated by the whole mess. I would be. Sucks buying a Porsche sometimes. I paid for 3 PPI's before I bought my first car. That was close to $1,000 before a single dollar changed hands for a car. Ironically, the last PPI I paid for was the cheapest and the car was in such good shape, all they really had to to was take pictures of the tiny superficial aesthetic dings. I paid a premium for that car though.
