I'd given up after getting a third SD card that was marked exactly like the previous two bad ones. My dealer and I decided not to even open it and try it, so I'm living with a half-map card for now. If I need to go to states after New York, I just use CarPlay/Google Maps.
Back in reply #2252, I listed the detailed file structure of the SD card, with file names and dates, to see if anyone could confirm what a "good" card looked like, but there were no takers.
I suppose that eventually Porsche will offer an updated map card with new maps after 2021, but since the battle between Apple/Android and the carmakers is in full swing, maybe Porsche will just wait it out before deciding whether to maintain their proprietary navigation. It looks like half the carmakers think they can make money by selling their own nav and the other half have surrendered to the phone makers.
Does anyone know if the faulty map SD cards have been all fixed? Want to get one but suncoast still list it as a q2 2021 version which seems kinda dated
Porsche (or was it PCNA?) in all its wisdom decided to simply take the existing cards and rewrite the complete dataset over the top. The correct cards look *exactly* like the original defective cards.
Since the bad cards had all of the map files, there must have been some other issue that was preventing the PCCM+ from accessing all of them. Perhaps some file (or files) on the card was used to add code into the PCCM+ to facilitate the reading. In any case, some change to some file or files or maybe even the directory structure itself must have occurred. I was hoping that something in the detailed file listing would have changed when whatever error that was there was corrected. Maybe a different file length or file date?
But no one else wanted to dig any deeper into the SD files and dates, I guess, so maybe it's still a crapshoot to get a good SD.
Installed the PCCM+ last summer without any problems. However I'm having difficulty with the volume sensitivity. Each click of the volume **** results in too large a change in the volume. The audio is either too loud or too soft. Is there a means to reduce the sensitivity for each click of the volume ****? Thanks.
Following the guide, why would I need step 5 and 6? Seems to work fine if you go until step 4. Am I missing something? I'm in Europe with a European unit.
Just installed the PCCM+ in my 07 C2S. Followed the instructions and all is well, except my wipers move a full swing and reset every time I start the car now… I’ve made sure the rain sensor is off, but no luck. Anyone experienced this?
