DCTMS in California as well...
Love the thickness and grip of perforated leather. Alcantara segments match the other alcantara pieces in the car. Top 5 mods to my car.
Easily in the top 5. Not sure why more people don't do it. It's not an expensive mod but makes such a difference. In your hands and in your face every moment you're in the car. The stock steering wheels don't impress me. Skinny and the leather feels cheap and slippery, at least on the 997's I've bought.
Where did you source the wheel? Looking for a manual with multifunction steering wheel with heat for my 2009 C4S. Currently have the old triangle airbag steering wheel with MF.
I choose the Porsche factory paddle shift wheel for my 2010 C2 PDK Coupe. I like being able to reuse the airbag from the original wheel. I don't like that the black leather on the new wheel is a matte finish. It has a completely different sheen/feel than the nearly semi-gloss leather in the rest of the car.
Here is the label from the box with the part number. No other parts were required to do the replacement. I had a dealer do the install (I wasn't prepared to work with an airbag).
well mine isn’t a 997 wheel but it’s in my 997. Parted it together exactly how I wanted it, (most of you probably know that all the trim pieces are interchangable on the 991.2 wheels). The wheel is similar to the 991.2 GT3/RS/GT2RS/GT4 wheels that are ordered to personal preference.
Hello rodH, i like your steering wheel. Is your Porsche a 997.1? If so can you PM the part numbers needed including your airbag. Thank you in advance.
yes. 997.1. I don’t have all the part numbers but I do have some of the trim part numbers. Basically I got a 991.2 bare wheel from eBay, the one spec I wanted and then bought the aluminum trim, the black inserts, The rear inserts, and the rear cover separately and also got the airbag separate. I got most of the trim from Porsche dealers and the airbag on eBay. The airbag is pretty universal for all 991.2 variants, Macan, Newer Cheyenne, etc.

The steering wheel looks really nice - you did a great job on it.

Have you cleaned the rest of the leather in the car? Shiny leather = dirty leather.
i actually have a spare mint condition 12,000 mile black leather heated steering wheel that i have to sell - problem is that its not multifunction. my wheel is custom actually - don dallas did it. its 2 tone black perf leather + top and bottom is sea blue like the rest of the car.

i am going the same route, you wouldn’t happen to have the part numbers? I need the silver trim, non multifunction black inserts, black rear cover for a manual, and wiring harness.
Got mine from Tom at Dallas Custom. He will cover them to your specs. He also recovered my shift **** and Ebrake handle in Alcantara. No core required. Fantastic quality. https://www.ebay.com/str/dallascustomsteeringwheel
