I have been wanting to upgrade my steering wheel in my 2009. Currently has multifunction. Would prefer one of the 991.2 or Macan ones with multifunction and heat.
I know I need the GPS adaptor from Paul. Do I also need a new clockspring for the heat to work?

Im broke but really "need" a upgraded wheel. Anyone have a great deal, a lay.a.way program, or a loaner there willing to offer.
Everyone say Porsche maintenance is high. pssh, maintenance is cheap, it's the upgrades.

No s**t. Not only are they expensive if you do it right but unless all the stars line up in your favor you won't get a dime of what you spent back if selling the car with the mods. Had my GTS up for sale a year or a year and a half ago. The total between the OEM GT2 seats and the Forgeline wheels alone comes close to $19,000. Rather than paying a premium for those mods, the most common question asked by those who inquired was: "Do you have the stock seats and stock wheels"? Since I don't have neither the stock seats or the stock wheels, most of those I talked to asked for a sizeable price reduction allowing them to return the car back to stock.
Bottom line. Spend big on quality mods but keep the stock parts or make a pact with yourself to keep the car forever.

He had a bad back so that was his reason for not liking the buckets but he liked everything else about the car and was also aware of what the buckets are worth. He bought the car, sourced a set of sport seats for I think he said $1,800 and then sold the buckets for $7,500. So a bit of a hassle but he pocketed $5,700 and got exactly the car he wanted at a $5,700 discount.

Exactly. I believe that's true for a lot of 997's and other models for that matter. All I can think is that mods (especially wheels) are highly subjective and buyers want either stock or they want to pick their own favorite wheels. What I don't get though is all the resistance towards the GT2 bucket seats. Even if someone doesn't like them for whatever reason, they easily bring $7,000 to $8,000 on the used market if in good condition. Good example of a buyer who had it figured out was the guy who bought my -09 C4S which was a launch car that came with the buckets from the factory.
