Anyone else using a PIWIS3 without issue or have problems like this when using a PIWIS2?

Please keep us posted. Interesting that both you and Delishu_racing had the issue after running adaptation using a PIWIS3. Lots of people have done this without problems using the PIWIS2, perhaps this is an issue with the PIWIS3? It's relatively new and I don't recall others mentioning it before in this thread, or this specific problem. If it's zapping TCU's it would be good to sort that out quickly.

PV997 - This article is amazing! I just had 5th-6th go out on my 981 Cayman S MT. I suspect a loose or broken bolt for the 5-6 selector fork. I wouldn't mind doing the work myself. Anything like this post for Getrag Manual Transmissions? Looks like my tranny swap PN is 981.300.010 and, true to your post, dealer quoted $14k for a swap.

PV997, if I were still a mod on here I’d move to fix this easily. I’d make the case all you have done, the time and effort willing spent and pitch you being a mod and assigned to late model water cooled section. Basically that is how Hacker / Eric got modded for his work with the 928 guys. I got zero stoke these days, but sure makes sense to me.

This months Panorama (June 2022) “TECH Q & A” reports a 2015 Cayman GTS (981) with what appears to be a PDK distance sensor failure. Pedro recommends beckseuropean.com. Pleased to see this thread and PV 997’s work getting recognized!

My Porsche mechanic said that 2010 Caymans can be only done with PIWIS2 and most likely the mess came because of the PIWIS3. Meanwhile, we found 997.2 Carrera file which happened to be the SAME as the cayman's and the car woke up! Now I have to go there and make the new MOT since mine has expired and they cannot test it on the road, but the car is changing gears and working properly so far. I will keep you updated on the progress.

Sorry Steve, we got the PN's on some of the others but I don't think we did on the pinion shaft bearing. Maybe someone else can comment.
I'd take some good measurements on it and try and match it up with those listed in the catalog of a quality bearing manufacturer. The other ones we found were stock items and not specialized.
Did it break during operation or splitting the case?

So far I can tell they copy/pasted the file via Flex magicmotorsport. When I go to the workshop I will retrieve more info, so far they are testing the car and after the clutches change they doesn't find any vibrations from the PDK anymore

They are hard to come by but findable. Heavy duty clutch packs are also available. We have installed several thus far as part of Tdesign sensor updates.

they changed it with OEM one, but refused to share with me the source. The car is now changing perfectly smooth and no more vibrations when hot are found, I am very happy we succeeded in fixing the box the whole repair with labour and new gearbox oil and filter was about 2900eur, which is a great price in my opinion.
