I think you're spot-on. It just wasn't until I really started following the build, hearing the thought process and seeing the results that this sank in...plus, the photos are just spectacular and accentuate the build's effects.

Am getting PSE installed this week and will install a Shark Werks central bypass in a couple of weeks. From there, the rainy day fund will go toward lowering the suspension and new wheels. Admittedly, I have a ton to learn about lowering and the handling/ride trade-off. Yes, I want sharpened/flatter handling, however, I still want some degree of compliance/comfort.

If anyone has a thread, YouTube video or website that's good place to learn about suspension tuning, I'd greatly appreciate a link.

Thanks.

Unfortunately I'm not a guru when it comes to suspension but luckily when I bought my 997.2 the owner had installed all the right mods that I wanted. Eibach springs to lower the stance, Fister exhaust with Billy Boat bypass cross pipe, BBS CH-R 19in rims and clear side marker lights. It was ready to roll and I haven't changed a thing.

Very sweet ride. Love the color and your BBSs.

Do you know which Eibachs are installed? And, more importantly, what do you think of the ride?

Thx!

I took a photo of the Eibach springs and you can use the item number as reference. The ride is just like a stock 997.2 no noticeable difference, I'm assuming since it is lowered there will be less body roll.

Thx!

Normally, I'm fine with with (good) factory wheels and springs. Nope, not anymore. You've completely changed my perspective and I've been involved with cars my entire life.

Great mods and the Platinum Silver is outstanding.

Thank you for letting us tag along vicariously, and for the outstanding photography.

Cheers
Thank you! Congrats on the new car!

I agree with everything!

That's a great idea. I will build a list and add it to the top post at one point. The only thing I am not satisfied with is the exhaust, I want more sound! I like the war Gundo + center delete sound, I just want it a bit louder. Headers w/200 cell may be calling my name

The front wheels are now on the car and I dropped the suspension almost an additional inch! I am very happy with the results, I will post some photos tomorrow when the rear wheels are on. In the meantime, here is a little iPhone photo teaser:

Peter,

A couple of querstions...

Are your BC Forged wheels brushed silver? I was looking at their palette and those are closest I could find to yours, though I'm not sure.

Regarding your coilovers...will you have to do more mods to the suspension to get things 'right,' or do you feel that with the wheels/coilover combo one can be fairly well set. I'm just wondering if adjustable linkages, etc., are now going to be required.

Thanks

Bob

The wheels are "brushed clear" finish. Depending on how low you go you may or may not need additional mods. In my case the rear toe is way too out due to how low I am, I purchased adjustable rear toe-links to correct this that I have not installed yet (I need to get this done ASAP so that I don't chew up my tires).

Awesome. Thanks very much. I'm sure you'll do it anyway, but will be interested in your opinion of the toe-links.

TBH, I'd love to have a set-up that lowered the car but did not require additional suspension mods. Nothing is perfect and I'll make the necessary changes if required...would love to avoid if I can.

Thanks, Peter.

Default It's been a while, time for updates (Fall 2020 - Spring 2021)

Well... it's been a while! Time for some updates

Changes since Fall of 2020 until now:

- Rear tow links installed
- Alignment completed (sporty street setup, factory everything and -1.9 camber all around)
- New tires are installed and I finally don't have any rubbing whatsoever (Falken FK510 235/35R19 and 295/30R19)
- Yellow front & rear seat belts installed
- Passenger seat shake/rattle fixed (tightening of LF bolt while seat was out)
- Short throw shifter installed
- Function First shift **** installed
- Fabspeed competition intake installed
- Porsche crest center cap overlays installed

Onto the photos:

Great thread -- Looking at your shots never gets old. Although they make me feel guilty about not keeping my Plat Silver clean.
