About a week ago I installed an x-pipe to replace the current center bypass, the purpose was to "clean up/smooth out" the exhaust note. Just like the TopGear headers the build quality is top notch and fitment is perfect. The x-pipe made a massive difference! I cannot believe how much the exhaust note changed, it is much quieter at low rpm and has a more exotic sound (it's more of a melody, and a lot less raspy). I am very pleased with the results and will try to get a video up soon.
Your attention to detail is evident, or I would not presumptuously question the above description of your Top Gear center muffler delete (CMD) pipe. It appears, based on the pics above, to be something other than an "X-pipe", as the exhaust gasses are routed 180 degrees back to the same header side of the engine.
The Sharkwerks, and also the Billy Boat version (?), 997.2 CDM pipes actually are an X design, route to the opposite side and critically remove the two restrictive 180 degree bends found inside the OEM center muffler:
OEM 997.2:
Sharkwerks:
Sharkwerks claims a dyno proven +9 hp with their pipe.
No affiliation, except owning and enjoying one.
I agree that a 997.2 NA 9A1 with the center muffler bypassed is ear candy of the highest quality.
"Hollow" is the best description I have encountered, so far. The OEM PSE is kind of a loser without it, IMO.
Again, your thread is quite entertaining/informative and the still photography/videos are pro caliber.
Stay warm up there, neighbor to the north!

Very cool build. Your mods are exceptionally well thought-out, tasteful and aesthetically/sonicly pleasing.

The Sharkwerks design is actually a crossover pipe, the TopGear piece is an actual x-pipe since the left and right bank mix in the center. The crossover designer is louder and has a deeper note (gives the exhaust a bark), the x-pipe has a higher note and cleans up the sound at the cost of volume (it is significantly quieter than a crossover design).

@CM991
They appear to be HRE P101's however that wheel has spawned many replicas from other brands so I could be wrong.
