Standard colors like silver, black, and gray tend to command the lowest prices. Rarer colors like white, yellow, or Lapis blue tend to command higher prices when compared to a similar spec car with a more basic color. Yellow seems to pull the highest dollars. The caveat to this is the color of the interior too. A yellow car with beige interior would likely command a much lower price than the same car with black interior.

Colors and costs from the 2003 Order guide...
Apart from PTS, which was very rare back then, I think it is more that some colors that were less popular then are considered desirable now, likely just because there are fewer of them.
Of course there are still a few colors that were rarely ordered back then (cause they weren't popular) and are still not so popular! Meridian Metallic comes to mind. (Apologies in advance to anyone who owns or loves Meridian Metallic)

Yeah, I was kidding. It's the 3rd most common color. I just did not want a black car due to the obvious. My daily driver is blue and silver and I constantly have people telling me how good it looks even though it's usually dirty and a truck.
I would have been fine with an Arctic Silver car though.

But I can't tell you how many people pronounce it "ahh-gah-tāe " instead of "ag·ate"

Paul, I think that your color combo, with the black wheel contrast, is one of the best combos out there.
I'm thinking about a set of wheels for the 991, cannot really decide what the best contrasting color is for rhodium silver.

On silver or lighter grey cars, I think black wheels can be a bit too much contrast and personally prefer something like Anthracite or gunmetal.

I really like how the satin black worked out on the 996, really makes the yellow calipers stand out, however, the definition gets lost in pics if not directly lit.

Great looking cars, fellas. Slate gray on the 996 is a great color. That agate would have been as well.
Older pic of my Seal gray Turbo. I am still working on the dash panels which required taking the A pillar trim pieces out.
