You're absolutely right in that all the forum information reads that way, and it likely was true at the time those posts were written years ago, but it is available today. I spoke to Gert and he will tell you this as well. Would have bought from him but my dealer competed a Classic cert on my car after the install so just wanted to have everything sourced directly from Porsche. I’m probably being too nerdy about that last bit but this is a special car to me so just wanted it to be perfect.

Wow that is clean under there. Looks mint.

For those saying 50k miles and 100k miles de-value these cars by half each and again, I'd love to see a $25k Turbo for sale. Please link me!

I think you are misunderstanding the depreciation we are discussing. No one is saying the values halve at 50k miles.

For a 996TT to hit a $25k value it would have to have around 200k miles on it.

And at 25k, I'd probably consider it even with 200k miles...maybe...if the maintenance history was there...

Someone should buy this car. 10k miles, one owner, 6 speed, full carfax history, Orient Red over dark Natural Grey. The photos do not do the color justice. Price has been lowered nearly every week. These dudes are looking to move this thing.

Curious as you mention keeping it OEM....why is your steel rear subframe cross member black? It appears to be painted? I don't think factory OEM came painted....

Orient Red always hard to move on 911; its spoofing “Candy Apple Red” from Happy Days

Arena & Zanzibar really the only two desirable “off” reds now

Every steel rear crossmember I have seen is painted black.

I don’t think any well maintained, accident free Mezger will drop much below $50K now regardless of miles

And that number is inexorably rising too

I've got a 02 Speed Yellow with 150k on it and wouldn't be selling even at 50k, With Mezgers never to be made again even high mileage ones will keep going up. I like to drive mine so who cares about the mileage. These motors are bullet proof and run just as good with 500k on them as 20k

Absolutely: high mileage is relatively meaningless when the drivetrain is freaking immortal. And it is

Besides, nothing like the Mezger will ever be seen again; not from Porsche, especially not from anyone else

and your MY2002 is an early "964.." unit which were still Made in Germany; freaking immortal AND priceless

can you please expand on your comment about the my02 being an early 964? I’m in the market for a 996tt.

What’s a reasonable price for a 996tt with x50 with about 40k miles?

1998-2003 “Early” Mezgers use a “964..” engine code and were all proofstamped “Made in Germany” on the engine block

(996GT1, 996GT2, 996GT3, 996Turbo)

2004-2012 “Late” Mezgers use part number “996..” and the redesigned engine blocks were outsourced to either: Austria, France, or Spain

(996GT2, 996GT3, 996Turbo, 997.1Turbo, 997GT2, 997GT3)

A reasonable price for any Mezger is many hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars. But for some inexplicable reason they can still be purchased for
pennies on the dollar due to a pervasive and seemingly perpetual ignorance as to what they really were

Thus if you want one, the time to buy is always yesterday. IE the artificially depressed pricing will not last forever
