^yeah, whenever I see stuff, I wonder if they really loved those wheels so much they had to have them, or if they took a car with a lot of problems and fixed it cheaply or Half a**ed

I agree. It would be a nice TT to own, but not as special as they tried to get everyone to believe. I do think it will make a very good TT for someone. I’ve seen nicer ones produced from 2001-2004. Amazing the number of people that liked those wheels over turbo twists. They just don’t look right on a 996 to me.

This was a pristine car with two determined bidders that both wanted it. That’s the ideal situation.

A rising tide may lift all boats, but it all had to come together for that cab to end up where it did. I don't think that ending bid is much more than an outlier.

It's funny how subjective value is. I am in the process of getting an '01 at the moment. I felt like I overpaid compared to what prices were two years ago. Now I feel like a got a great deal after catching up on this thread!
