Oh, that's a nice one. Wow, I of course am partial to Seal Gray, and the interior is perfect. Big $$$$

If true, either way you're going to be replacing or repairing these issues as needed. The only difference is you'll be doing it all at once instead of over time. So other than inflationary cost, what's the difference?

What all did you have to do to sort it out? $12k is a lot of dough. Did you DIY or pay retail? What rubber bits? I'd imagine any exterior rubber bits would be in better shape due to less UV rays and in this car's instance, properly taken care of over the years. Same with the interior bits. Mechanical? Maybe, but not going to add that much money.
I bought my car with 7200 miles on it and did what amounts to a major 100k mile service on it. It cost me about $1200 in parts to DIY it, and gave me a starting reference point for future maintenance. Now at 24k miles without any issues.
Agreed, strong money for this car and I'm glad to see it happen. It doesn't matter what the buyer is going to do with it. Drive it or park it, either way it serves to raise market value.

No one mentioning that X50 is slower 0-60, and only 1MPH faster on top. Heavier too, and TONS more lag. So really worth a $50K premium for 1MPH?? LOL IMO

I think the premium comes in for the X50 option itself, not the end result.

What it really needed to be a unicorn is PCCBs.

I am aware that my car, X50/PCCBs is extremely rare, particularly in Canada. As a 2003, I do not recall every seeing another X50/PCCB equipped car, other than mine.

In the States, I would expect there to be approx. 10x more of them, but they are elusive.

I don't recall what was absolutely needed vs. recommended because of age but with 11k miles and little maintenance history, I didn't want to take any chances on an otherwise pristine car that I wanted to enjoy driving as much as I could: oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid, cabin air filter, new battery, new tires, general overall inspection, front diff service/oil, silicone hose kit/O ring seals, coolant expansion tank, spark plugs, ignition coils, MAF sensor, O2 sensor, ABS sensor for front wheel, diagnosis/testing/shop labor. I was also chasing down an emissions light which required some back and forth, diagnostics, testing, retesting, etc. I'm sure there is more but this all adds up quickly with labor.

Not included with above as these were more my preference to have done, I also had the coolant lines pinned, refreshed suspension to KW V3, and paint correction/PPF ceramic pro.

More recently, I also had the hood shocks and engine mounts replaced.

Well that's definitely more than sorted with substantial upgrades! Nice !!! Now if I added up my upgrades / mods to the tab then we'd talking a different story. LOL

That would make it truly a Garage Queen, never to be driven again...

And a Unicorn.

I should clarify that not all of that was included in the $12k, only the items in the first paragraph. Yeah, all in more than double that, especially if adding in the HRE wheels I have on now!

Because then, not only would it have super low mileage, it would have all the fancy, expensive options that no one wants to maintain (myself included).

Glad to see that seal gray car sell for $108k...super low miles but definitely a confirmation of changing times in the 996TT world.
