Because of the mileage not quite a "prestige" car but this Tip did quite well.

Hmmm, it was a one-owner car, so that certainly helped. But, based on some of the comments, I'm not entirely certain the bidders appreciated the difference between a manual and a Tiptronic car. Most BaT bidders are pretty savvy, but the focus seemed to be on the Mezger engine and then there were some comments like this:

"To echo what others have said, this transmission is great in this car. The greatness of 911 turbos is not exactly a secret, but I think people are realizing that Mezger engine turbos paired with AMG transmissions are truly special. I expect to see these 996 and 997.1 Turbos continue to climb in value. GLWTA!"

So, I wonder if the buyer fully appreciates what he/she is getting. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see the car bring a strong price, but it probably shouldn't have gone above $45,000, especially factoring in the $2,500+ buyer's fee that got added on.

I respectfully disagree. I am sure the buyer knew exactly what he was buying.

Yeah 50k seems fair enough. You rarely see that interior color so it's going to be a rare color combination. Plus one owner vehicle is another premium. If 997.1 GT3s can be 100k now we should be worth at least a small sum more than a year ago.

$62,000 was a low price for this car even with the damage and questionable mods in my opinion. Jumped $10,000 in last 2 minutes. Good buy for the buyer!

Nice car, I like Speed Yellow. Clean 996T will continue to climb I think. Mine has 6,000 more miles but honestly for $70-$80k I don't think I could replace it with anything thats as enjoyable to drive hence my hesitation to sell.

Ryan Friedman has a few in the 90k range but who knows if those cars ever sell.

My biggest regret is passing on an 02 Speed Yellow Coupe with painted back Sport Seats because it was a few grand over budget....kicking myself.

These look so special dressed in yellow

How much do you think they're into that car for? $70k? Maybe $75k? Imagine pulling a 60% markup flip.
