Three Wheelin'
It's amazing (but not surprising) to see how many pristine low mileage cream puffs are still out there!

Amd the seller doesn't even bother updating the boilerplate tech specs that read 415 hp. I hate it so much when I see such amateur sloppy work.

-Snow tires: Its been driven in winter
-Rust under engine lid: How much more rust is there elsewhere? If you plan on wrenching yourself, extreme heat from turbos and salt can make for a lot of seized and broken fasteners.
-Plastic on lower rockers is faded: It's seen a lot of sun exposure. Probably spent a lot of time not garaged. Interior may also have sun damage not readily visible in the pictures.
-Dusty and dirty around front trunk opening: Another tell tale sign of not being garaged.
-Headlights look a bit cloudy: See above regarding sun exposure.
-Broken windshield: I doubt Porsche glass is cheap Also, anytime you replace a windshield , you run the risk of creating a leak (air or water) and possible paint and body damage around the windshield.

Depends on what it goes for. Things to be aware of when gauging your max bid:

Great info, noticed it has been in three accidents.

Car has been for sale for a really long time. I think I first noticed it in June or July? It is at a used car dealer in Waterbury, CT.

It's about an hour from me but I just never got a good enough feeling to ever even look at it. As has been already mentioned, lots of areas of wonder/concern. Pics look rough.
The fact that he now has it listed at no reserve has piqued my interest slightly. Maybe I'll take a ride after Christmas and have a look.

Anybody notice the leaves in the center radiator? I don't think that this car has had proper maintenance over the years. This is the first time I have seen an "Auto Check" report. The Carfax reports I have see always showed the dealer maintenance visits. Based on the visible condition that Vman932 noticed I would be very leery on this one. On the other hand it has a yearly average of 5,500 miles so I would think that it must have spent most of it's winters garaged.
Personally, I would not go more than 35K on this car.

There are so many nice examples right at $40k, it just makes no sense to flirt with this one. The $5-$10-$15k saved upfront could be chewed up real quick. And at the end of the day you still own a car with 3 accidents on its report hurting its resale when it comes time to sell. Just doesn't seem like a very smart buy.
But hey, maybe a good detail and a set of tires is all this car need.....who knows?
