There's a white one (fukking rad) on eBay with a tan/wood interior (puke). I think it was listed for sale here or on 6speed recently.

Google the vin, the car was condition 3, average when it was auctioned at 16k in 2005. Not sure why but it will most likely not have improved with age.

^Hmm, yep, that's what I figured. Didn't know for certain, but in Grandview with those floormats, wasn't hard to guess.
Any update on your car? Any chance it will make the October 2nd All German car show?

Nope on my car, more crap news. I won't name any names on the shop but a certain cylinder head shop hogged out my heads so much they cracked them. So we sent them out to a Porsche only machine shop and they also informed us that the valve springs are shot too. Even though the shop here in town did a full head job.......... The news never stops on this engine. $$$$

Ugh, sorry to hear that.

If I ever tell you I'm thinking about buying another project car, you have permission to punch me in the 'nads to bring some sense back.

If it makes you feel any better to commiserate, check out the "milkshake" thread in the NA996 forum. I think it will be a long time and many more thousands of dollars before that car is back on the road.

It will be alright, I just wish I would have bought those $10K 996tt engines that are out there for sale then sold mine as a blown motor. It would have been cheaper. Now I also kinda wished I bought a coupe so I can turn it into a track car. Oh well.

What was the initial issue with your motor?

The seller said the CEL came on so he just pulled over, when we got it was throwing some camshaft sensor codes. It turns out the cams were basically welded into the heads on the driver side. Surprisingly the car still ran, not good though. And we found out some backyard mechanic was in there before, maybe the seller. Just a mess all together.

Doesn't look bad to me. Why the "roll the dice"?

BTW, since it's in Huntington Beach, for God's sake, don't take it to Autowerkes for a PPI.

Priced well below book and no mention of maintenance history plus high(er) mileage. My spidey senses are tingling.

Best Porsche shop in OC is Vision Motorsports IMO.
