Last year, during peak prices, I purchased a VERY high mileage TTTip because it was the cheapest TT in the US at 39k and it was completely accident free, so it seemed like it would make the perfect project car. I'm having second thoughts. Do you think I could sell it for 35k?

yup. It was weird though. I was expecting a loose, squeeky, rattletrap, but it runs great and is very tight / precise. I contacted the previous owners and he was driving it 59 miles each way to work and back. Hence the hight mileage. I was actually going to pass on it but the PPI from Cherry Hill concluded that the only problems were a frunk strut and oil leak. I couldn't believe it and gave in to my Porsche fever. Like I said, at the time it was the cheapest TT on the market.

There must be a whole world out there that I just don't understand when someone can buy a Porsche Turbo as a commuter car to drive sixty miles each way. I wish I understood it...

huh? I've been commuting mine 140 miles round trip 3-4 times a week for 7-8 years until recently

The person I bought my first 996tt from bought a brand new Cayenne turbo and a new 996tt in 2004 and used both in her 100 mile round trip commute daily until i bought them both in 2018. I can not comprehend eating that much depreciation but she was definitely in a different tax bracket than I am.

Probably a tough ask, but you could try. How is the interior? Any cool options?
The interior is excellent with the cold weather package. It’s really a strange gem of a car with no real problems minus the mileage. But if it’s too tough, I’m not that motivated. I keep fluctuating between selling/building it

Do you regret buying it? Do you need to sell it?
I would think you can get 35 for it if you remove that wrap and wait for spring.
Also I think mileage is given too much weight. Why not just drive the thing? I have a 6TT with 180k on it and it's also squeak and rattle free, drives fantastic, and I use it on the track regularly.
