people poo poo X50s. However a X50 with a tune, exhaust and some ICs is considerably faster than a non X50 with the same mods. Was it worth $18K or whatever new ? possibly not.

It really depends on what kind of driving you do and where you do it...
For me. and with this combination of driving and mods, the K16 cars are *far* more enjoyable than the K24 cars and I have plenty of seat time in both variations... The K16 has much less lag, more linear, and more mid-range. Now if I was focused on 1/4 mile runs or other straight speed contests, or possibly at low altitude, or if you are going with a modified hybrid Turbo, than I can see advantage to the K24.
[QUOTE=bdronsick;17715062]Yeah I read X50 raises 0-60 time and adds only 1MPH top speed, so I didn’t seek them out but now they’re fetching $25K+ premium so can’t knock it[/
X50 -- Power Enhancement Kit
Following is the announcement made in PCNA's Press Kit:
"The 911 Turbo adds an optional engine enhancement performance package that increases horsepower to 450 (331 kW) @ 5,700 rpm and sustains 457 lb.-ft (620 Nm) of peak torque from 3,500 - 4,500 rpm. The new package includes modifications to the turbo charger, air intake cooler, electronic control unit, exhaust system and a strengthened transmission. This option cannot be retrofitted to the standard 2001 and 2002 911 Turbo."

MSRP for option X50 is US$17,700, CAD$24,400.
This option is available in limited supply.
X50 adds GT2/GT3 oil pump, larger intercoolers from GT2 (12% more efficient), Turbos from GT2 (K24), strengthened transmission. ECU mapping is nearly identical to GT2- difference is 0.1-0.2 bar less boost.
The 911 Turbo adds an optional engine enhancement performance package that increases horsepower to 450 (331 kW) @ 5,700 rpm...
That 450 horsepower number is 450 horsepower DIN. Europe measures horsepower in DIN while in the United States horsepower is measured in SAE. The 331 kW is 444 horsepower SAE. The non-X50 Turbo has 415 horsepower SAE, so the X50 has a bump of 29 horsepower SAE over the non-X50 Turbo.

Reason: Typo
Interesting to note the Continental stereo spliced into the MOST bus, which only a lunatic Porsche enthusiast would even try. I would definitely buy this Seller. I’ll call this car a steal.
It checks all of the boxes for our bargain-basement finds:
Cheap price? $36,900 (gotta love a 996TT well below $40k)
Mileage? Well past the centennial mark at 110k+
Transmission? Good ol' Tippy for the win!
Shipping cost? Only a problem if you don't happen to live in Hawaii, yo.
Coupe or Cab? It's Hawaii, why would anyone want a coupe, anyway?
Multiple owners? Pfft, c'mon, only 8 previous owners.
Accident history? Even AutoCheck found a prior. But hey, "no stories" cars are boring, anyway, amiright?
Ugh! 74 days on Cargurus, price reduced by $3k. Reminds me of the car by that funny guy who used to post here all the time, you know the one I'm talking about. Can't remember what he sold it for a year or two ago. I think that was a better car, but of course the market wasn't crazy like now.
The Hawaii car is still for sale.
Several tips in the 40's at the moment (mixture of cabs and coupes.). Manuals are in the mid to high 50's. 01, BLK/BLK, coupe, tip with @ 65K miles for $47k

I’ll revive this a bit ! @bdronsick you were spot on with this vehicle. Ad was wrong in a good way as the mileage was listed incorrectly way high as well as what they really had on their hands. I wound up picking this up on the spot once I had it up on a lift and was able to go through the records and it turned out spectacularly. Great drivers car in Very clean shape with most of the big mechanical work already done. - scrh1
