"Coolant lines can and do pop, but it's not a catastrophic failure (unless you spin the car behind you on the track), and the popped coolant pipe can be re-epoxied without pulling the engine. I'd much rather have a car that has never had its engine pulled than one that was pulled and welding by an unknown shop doing unknown quality work. If your planning on lots of track days, yes, it's an important upgrade. Otherwise, no signs of leaks, no worries."
In my mind, correcting the coolant lines is not an upgrade, it's preventive maintenance. Mine blew 6 weeks after I purchased the car and the line that blew was not accessible without pulling the engine. I chose the Sharkwerks pinning method for the correction which was still an expensive fix. Anyone buying a 996tt should consider this in it's purchase price because it's a valid negotiation point.
2nd gear pop out? Once it starts the damage is already done. I haven't done it yet, but this discussion has me thinking about installing the Gbox detent.
I would also add that 2nd gear pop out is not really an issue...I mean it is but it isn't. If you keep your hand on the shifter while in 2nd gear, it will never pop out. It otherwise doesn't cause any other damage.
I can't - been lurking for a while but just created an account a few days ago.

another popped up on my feed. Low miles, The Gembala stuff and headlights is personal so not for all.
That one is near me if anyone wants me to take a look. It was for sale back in 2015 when I was looking for my car. I never got to look at it as it sold quickly. It is a local KC car, but I have never seen it at a KCRPCA event, nor at any local cars and coffee.
I threw mine on CL and did a small price drop. I definitely feel like the market is a bit softer than this group thinks. If I get 50 for this car I will be happy, but I don't see it happening.
