And the warranty is in fact relevant because it indicates what Porsche's intent was regarding the use of the car.
Hmmm...this does not, IN FACT, come across as a statement of opinion. I'm not sure WTF the Air Force has to do with this....DoD and NHTSA...similar...yeah right...

IMHO, Dock, you do come across as a self appointed expert. You stated your case and that was sufficient.....to continue the argument is...well let's say..pointless.

BTW, name calling (insinuation for the childlessness comment) is really uncalled for.

My Air Force experience was in response to your question about how I know what is relevant to the NHTSA investigation.

Regarding my posts here, they are made in response to continued discussions initiated by other people's posts. It is a process of clarification and responding to posts, just like responding to your entry back into the discussion where you said "lets fight" and proceeded to ask several questions. What do you expect me to do, not respond to you?

And how does that experience provide any insight into an NTHSA investigation?

It provides insight into how important it is to ask questions and gather as much accurate information as possible.

One of the problems with Android spell check coupled with poor proof reading prior to posting...

Hey Dock- are you a PCA member? If so what region? Do you track your car? This might be relevant to NHTSA.

And since it's Porsche that's on the hook financially, it is paramount to determine the "why", as there is no reason for them to be on the hook for repairs/ money if the leaks are not the result of their design or manufacturing.

BTW, what is the coefficient of friction of coolant mixed with water? Is it more or less than water on a road?
like ice! way slicker than water

Bob
Attached is a copy of the document we sent to Porsche requesting specific information related to this investigation. It is now available on our public website, www.safercar.gov, investigation number PE13009. I thought this might be interesting to you. The number of incidents quoted is a snapshot from about 2 weeks ago (there is a delay in the time the document goes through approval process and then is uploaded to the public website).

I appreciate your help with our investigation.

Default Lot of discussion, this is what it looks like.

This is my 2003 996TT at .8 bar on its first pass on the dyno. This happened in late March. I have a case open with the NHTSA. Not tracked, before mods, 82,000 mile daily driver in central Texas.
