What did you do to your 996TT today?
Race Car
Finally got my hardtop mounted after searching high and low for the correct catch and receiver hardware. Absolutely LOVING it. It’s a much quieter ride, and love the extra rigidity. I also recently installed a new set of P4S’s to replace the nearly 12 year old tires I’d bought the car with years ago. Should’ve done this a lot sooner. She’s ready for early driving season!

Believe it or not, my 957 headlight fiasco is STILL ongoing. I'm in the process of checking all my wiring, as I've been unsuccessful getting several headlight ballast to communicate with my PIWIS (I bought my own a few weeks ago)....Fun times. I wish my Cayenne was as dead reliable as my trusty 996!

Is that the 660hp version with a live axle?
Those are very entertaining to drive if so.

Just drove it; pity it's raining...
First impressions:
- First time I've driven the car without cats, bottom end is stronger, and when going downhill, there is no longer the 'compression braking' effect due to the restrictions associated with the cats - very, very smooth.
- The sound, is, well, fantastic. If I were able to actually ring it out without breaking the back end free, I am sure that at redline, it will absolutely howl, in a good way.
- As far as cabin noise is concerned, I'm pretty hard of hearing, so it seems pretty much the same to me inside, but a little deeper tone. The engine spins much more freely, (also probably cat related), but I think the 90mm flange on the K24 is certainly a little less restrictive than the 75mm flange on the Ti unit it has replaced - @powdrhound I think your assessment was spot on, I love it.
- Overall, impeccable fit and finish, hopefully the rain will let up and I can do some tunnelling over the weekend.
Massive thanks to @SamboTT@ByDesign for making this a reality - a few more steps to get the 980s in and we will be off to the races (figuratively, not literally).
Cheers,

So glad you love it buddy and already with such a small drive. It only gets better as it breaks in. Enjoy!

Thank you Sir, so very much appreciated.
Yes, 662hp/631tq with a live axle. You're spot on in "very entertaining to drive".
It's hard to believe these could be sold to the general public with how it wants to kill its driver. If insurance rates are any indication, these GT500's have seen some attrition!

Yes, under hard acceleration, it was a little wiggly... And could easily catch you out of you're not paying attention.

So I had a chance this morning to do my 60 mile mileage loop with varying terrain - a couple of bridges, a tunnel, a large hill south, and the same hill northbound. I find that this loop, at a constant 62/3 mph gives a fairly approximate number on mixed use driving. Obviously, it is better over a longer run as the fuel trims will average out in a neater fashion, but I was very surprised to see a peak of 28mpg, and a settled average of 27.7mpg.
If memory serves, this is 3.5mpg better than my previous best of 24.2mpg (I'll try and dig up the numbers to confirm), but either way, this is a solid improvement over the 22mpg quoted from the factory.
I attribute this improvement to both tuning and mechanical improvements in both thermal management and improved flow.
It makes me think that with the addition of the 980s, 30mpg at nominal cruise is not only possible, but we'll within reach.
On a personal note, this is a very hard exercise to complete when folks are passing you all the time and you just want to turbo their azzes...
Conditions were damp drizzle, 9c, octane 94.
