There is no point to steeling stuff when stuff is so cheap or free. When I first came here and i needed stuff just walk around on garbage day.
True police come down hard on people who steel bicycles because they are registered and ownership can be verified.
When it comes to food stalls, what they don't sell they are going to give away anyway. It's not like the US where there are actual laws against giving away food to the public.
Mafia they avoid foreigners. Perfect. Chinese mafia will F someone up because Japanese police only care if a Japanese national is involved.
That being said my scooter and 1 jack stand was stolen at my old place.
But my place now is a dead-end street with lots of kids and housewife's. So unless it's a delivery truck eyes are in it.
There are eyes everywhere, especially when there is an aging populations with lots of retired folk. With nothing to do but watch and gossip.

I have had friends move there for a time because of work. They all left as soon another opportunity arose. How long have you lived there? Are you planning to stay "forever"?

Been asked this a lot. Been here 20+ years. I go where the money, safety and relative freedom is. As a POC, Person of Color, I have found opportunities and overall acceptance here more than North America. Japanese almost even discrimination against all foreigner give me more of an equal footing compared to most other countries. That being said I wouldn't mind the EU but my friends there say the taxes are brutal. Australia has draconian speeding laws. Developing countries,
Nah, I can't deal with the lack of personal safety and corruption.
So Japan it will be for a while. Unless I can get diplomatic immunity. 100mpg+ scratches that itch.

My fellow Turbo brethren,
I purchased what will ultimately replace the Turbo. As such, the Turbo is going to be returned to stock in preparation for sale. Three big items will subsequently be available, and I wanted to post here before formally creating the classified posts.
