What did you do to your 996TT today?

Smart move. Those sensors should not be that difficult to remove. At some point in the past someone must have installed them without anti-seize and over tightened them.

i agree, the o2 socket started stretching and i've never had this bad of a time extracting sensors in the past... it's not like it's even a DD that is exposed to salt and snow... i just wonder if the sensor went bad and i wasn't doing an exhaust swap, how would i ever get the sensor out? might need to cut it and drill it out?

in the meantime, installed the motor mounts...

I know this may sound odd, and if you'd still like to get those sensors out -
Douse the sensor in liquid wrench, wd40 or the concoction Darrick suggested and let it set for about ten minutes. Then, try to 'tighten it' a fraction of an inch. Douse it again, repeat, let it sit.
It looks as if the problem you are having is that it is so corroded that the penetrating oil cannot penetrate - by cracking the corrosion via tightening, it may let enough oil in to do some good.
If that doesn't work - oxy/acetylene that bugger...
Although I am not the most gently on parts that require a soft touch, I have never met a bolt, or nut, that I couldn't get out, or off...

Since your not having any problems with the sensor nut stripping, I'd use a high quality long handle open end wrench and whack it a few times with a hammer rather than just pushing on a cheapie flare nut wrench... Those cheap flare nut wrenches are not really designed to knock loose a stuck fastener and can't handle much torque, as you witnessed.
You could also try a really heavy duty 02 sensor socket, but most of them are made pretty cheaply as well. I have this Lisle one, but haven't needed to put it to the test.

yep tried propane on the bung to try to get it to expand to release the sensor but no luck either... looking at the mating surface, it looks like it's welded itself together over the years... my buddy has an oxy acetylene torch, i might try that one last time before destroying it...
thanks... i think i should get it out in the event i ever want to revert back to stock...
