Wash ( 2 bucket ) , Gary Dean IUDJ spit shine , Oil Change , and 165 MPH quick rip to get damn dust off! Then cruised to dinner in it at 65 with GF. What a machine.

Here is what I did yesterday....

Rotors
Pads
Tie rods
End links
Brake fluid flush
New clear coat on the calipers
H&R springs
Bilstein shocks
EVOMS diverters
B&M short shifter

Man it was a long day yesterday...lol
I took all this on all by my self, then had to be at a BBQ by 5pm.

Wow - I'm always impressed by guys willing to get dirty by tackling these projects. I'm scared to death to do any work on my car - I figure it will cost me double to have someone undo my mistakes, then do it right.

Installed my rear 2 pc rotors. Took the car in to the CHP weight scales.

a bit over 1/2 of gas and few items in the car and me. 3380 with me in the car. I did a quick search, seems like that is what 997.1 gt3rs track ready weight that or 20 lbs more.

I just need to find a 20-30 whp more out of k16's and its the "perfect" car for me Yes the car is still AWD.

just curious why you are sticking w the 16's.. although i think it's "instant on" you want/need and that i understand. have you run the old hybrids? just wondrin'. i really wish i could a/b my car against an older gt3 in the canyons. so i'd know what i have.. or don't . but i'm never out of the power band. it;s weird.

your cars weight loss is impressive. as for me, i just removed the spare donut from the boot. what'd i save 25#? i have all the hp i can use for what i do.. now i need to lose the extra weight.. i'm gonna begin the process of shredding/shedding and the car will never be saleable again! i admire folks that can keep all the stuff we pull out of these for a future buyer my ultimate goal is roof delete lol

I have driven a GT3 and my Turbo back to back in the canyon roads several times... i have never driven k16'gs...if someone in the Bay Area has them, perhaps i would take a look at them if i can drive the car in the back roads.back to back against mine.

Against the 996 gt3, i can write you a very good summation of differences, of what i like about the gt3 and what i didnt. Same about my turbo. One key thing i like about the gt3 is how nimble it is..due to weight..being able to brake later, due to weight. Easier on the tires, brakes, chassi, because of weight.. i love how im able to rotate the car with tq of my car... your car does not have to be stripped down to lose weight... here is some pictures of mine, of what it almost looks like... very DD looking.

very nice! very stealthily stock ( looking ). i will again find your weight loss thread, in one of these forums and benefit from your experience.

if you ever get to SoCal you can drive this one. the santa monica mountains are world renowned and the only real improvement i can make would be weight loss. it's funny.. i took a blast after removing to spare donut.. and i imagined the front was floatier thru corners, though maybe it was a placebo effect lol but i guess we can feel 25#!

( i gotta get those rear seats out again.. after putting in my cage they are even more useless, look stupid, and i want it down to the shelf like that.. looks good too ). thx for posting the pics

Mine got a tank full of 100 octane goodness. Then terrorized the East Bay...
