Him: even out control that mat-black3 looks darth vader cool!
Glad you escaped relatively unscathed. Where's the AM wing?

I'm actually surprised this problem isn't dealt with by P. Should be relatively easy to sue them considering your legal system and the perfect log of experiences RL provides. Maybe time to setup a website for just this issue and to start catching other traffic from google searches to join the cause.

Yes the previous owner of the car bought it from a Porsche Dealer in May of 2011. The dealer put the CPO warranty on it which is good for 2 years. That warranty is fully transferable so in the end I will be covered until May of 2013.

Has anyone gone this route with buying the TIG welded manifolds off ebay? Obviously buying anything from an ebay vendor has it's risks but Reiser Technik is the shop that is offering the parts and they look legit.

OMG !! ZSA Motorsport just dropped my engine to do fittings and guess what!! Yep ! Found first one ready to fail. So glad I took the plunge. The thought of myself wrecking or someone behind me having an incident is too much for me.... tbc

I was talking to a very well established race shop to get my water manifold fittings fixed. They have become unenthusiastic about welding them since they have had a number of them leak after being pressurized. IOW after engine was reinstalled. They have excellent welders in their shop, but did have a certified Aluminum and titanium welder do a few with similar results. They now recommend pinning with new better epoxy.

I had pretty much decided to get mine welded and use them since they are only 150 miles from me and a very reputable established race shop that run Cup cars. Has anyone had trouble with leaks after welding? Goldcrest is 600+ miles from me.

Kyle, 1 full year approximately 35 days on the track no leaks with the welds. You could have your shop drop the motor and pull the parts and then send them out to a shop with experience doing the welds.

They did say that the leaks they see are within the first day or two after reinstallation and pressurization of the cooling system. They don't seem to have delayed leaks.

This does frustrate me since I had planned to weld them which seems to be the logical definitive solution. As a surgeon who has little interest in patients trying to tell me how to do something, I'm not about to tell someone who has been in business for 20 some years and building winning Cup cars how to do something. I may have to decide to find someplace else. Problem is, they are a significant round trip tow away. Why can't Porsche make this right????
