I planned to drop the motor an have the fittings welded. I bought all hoses that I could locate the part #s on the PET. There are 4 hoses that I (and dealer) could not find the part #s . Was thinking to drop the motor then check the # on hoses! Since your motor is out, would you able to find out the part #s for me? If possible I prefer get all parts ready before dropping the motor.

The hoses that I am looking for are highlighted in BLUE.

We were having same issues getting all part numbers before dropping motor as most dealers aren't aware and hose numbers seems to be elusive for some reason. I am waiting right now for my mechanic to locate everything needed and can let you know hopefully in next few days. Don't have hte car near me right now to read off hoses and won't until next week.

Somewhere on searching forums for these I found a list but don't think it was complete.

Can let you know when I have in hand.

Pinned 6 of these fittings with engine in the car yesterday. It's really not much of a job, takes some time (8 hours for us including a pressure test) but its cheap < $50.

Once you remove the alternator 5 of the 6 are right there, the 1 behind the power steering pump took as long as the other 5, lol. You just can't get to the other 2 without dropping the engine so I'll still run Watter Wetter at the track even though I've never seen a documented failure of those particular fittings.

My intention isn't to reignite the pin vs. weld debate, simply to let people know that you can implement a solution without dropping your engine. Maybe not the perfect remedy but from what I've seen here it would have been a 100% success rate in preventing the specific failures that people have posted.

Interestingly enough, none of the fittings on my car, 05 with 40,000 miles (not sure how many track miles), were loose or showing any signs of movement at all.

Powertech in Rockaway can do it. They can weld or pin it, but their preferred method is pining. I was there Monday and talked with them about it as a local PCA member had his 997.1 GT3 let go last week at Lime Rock. My 6GT3 will be there in May and this will be one of the things to get taken care of.

I had a water line blow last weekend. 140 mph on the front straight at the Ridge Motorsports Park. It was the hose on the right side of the engine that you can easily access when opening the deck lid. It looked like the engine had blown from the size of the rooster tail that it made. The car will now go in to Cantrell Motorsports for engine drop and full hose replacement and weld.

Luckily no one was injured, and I got the car off line and shut down quick, so there were no other cars involved.

Glad to hear that...Weiner told me about the incident as the boys were up for a T/T in my 964.

If you saw the red 964 with the RS wing, I'd love your impressions.
