you dont need to, you should be in 2nd for 5 a and b up to top of 4th gear( approx 252KMH before braking) on straight. you downshift to third at 8,down to second for 9 and 10, up to third for 1. and the top of third at the entrance to turn 2 and all the way thru it. 4th at turn 3...back to 3rd for 3 to the top of 4 ( redline at top of 4) then thru 4 in 3rd and back to second for 5 a and b....the only spot where gearing might have helped is a taller 3rd for entering turn 2.

its an optional short shift if you carry enough speed thru 2 ( you still have to go back to 3rd for turn 3)...otherwise run it to the top of 3rd gear and just scrub off some speed then carry 3rd thru three and 4

Shorter gears, about 10% shorter, would perhaps be marginally better for Mosport, but if you're not at or below 1:32 (at the highest) for the circuit with slicks, it'll be a waste of money for you.

NobleGT3, you're being too hard on the engine. It's a lapping day!

You should be well into 5th on the back straight, in 4th before the turn in to eight, and in 3rd before turning into nine. If you're in 2nd coming out of ten it's too short, and if in 3rd it's a tad, mind you only a tad, too long, so 3rd is better. You should be in 4th going into corner one and remain in 4th until just before you start the turn in to corner three, where you should be in 3rd. You upshift to 4th between corners three and four and stay there until after the flat at the bottom of four. Then it's down to 3rd and also into 2nd coming up the rise into corner five A, without having engaged 3rd.

richard....your way will carry very little speed, you will be waaaayyy out of the power band....think of the white GT3 with the skull helmet from last year and 2004 and then my comments will make sense

Bouncing off the rev limiter heading towards corner 8 and again at the end of corner 1? No wonder you sold it. The engine must have been worn to a nub.

The Top of fourth is only good for 235kmh.
to hit that speed (252) you need to be in fifth for a little bit and see least over 7000rpm.

If you were going to do it ...NJ-GT recomended gearing would work best. The regearing I got works better at Shannoville and TMP.

My gearing is better than stock at Mosport but my third gear could be a little longer when in turn 3#.. I have to carry more speed in fourth or shift into fourth when using third...
other than that it's great.

The car is much quicker with the regearing.....at Mosport unlike the smaller tracks driver skill makes a big difference.

and I believe that Noble's best lap at Mosport in a basically stock GT3 would be sub 1.30, n'est pas Jason?

never timed myself but others claimed to me that i was in that range or lower.
MPSC, a good alignment,FIKSES,seats and rollbar plus banging it off the rev limiter!! ( with FRYD right behind as always!)

Sub 1:30 in stock GT3 with just MPSCs? No freaking way. That's Roy Chong speed, and only 2 seconds slower than Rick Deman in a GT3R.

Yeah, I'd like to see the video or AMB transponder time for that...
