So what's your predicted time in a Cup and how will you verify for us?

Cool...see you at the race. I expect you to win the group outright, which will take times around the 1:24s-1:25s. Should be easy with slicks, the better aero, a stiffer suspension and 400lbs less.

Get your license app in asap: http://www.pca.org/clubrace/license.htm. I would also email Susan to make sure she knows you need it pretty fast.

For predicted times, I would think something in the low 1:24s would be the same as a 1:29 in a street GT3. Figure when Scotto/Burger went to slicks, they dropped 5 seconds at Watkins Glen (including the ~250lb ballast drop). So this should be slightly better. For verification, I assume he will be in the race, so we can just look at the sheets. Right?

1:24s should be no problem for this guy. If Patrick Long can do that on spec tires, Noble should be able to do that on slicks. Further, I don't think Patrick Long has ever raced motorcycles, so according to Noble, Noble should be better...

Yes, 1:24s. I'm just hoping to crack into the 1:34s (D class 964T), which apparently means I suck .

I do give Nobel some credit for stepping up and come out to prove his worth. If he does hit 1:24s, I'll be the first to praise his talent/speed. Plus, if he's doing those times, he should win GTC3 easily.

i dont know if demans 2000 supercup car(isnt this car 996 based??)( not even a GT3 CUP!!) is capable of 1.24?? but if this guy can do a 1.34 in it when he isnt even a big name and had no mosport experience why would you find it hard to believe a fully prepped 2004 GT3 couldnt go faster?? bigger motor, brakes and better chassis. read here:

38D and DrJupeman...maybe you pussies would like to respond to my earlier offer??

""anyway i cant show up and do anything unless you provide me a car as i now have a 997S only for street. i will give you a $20,000 damage deposit to lap your car at Mosport,VIR,Roebling Road or Sebring anytime you want...and if im not faster than you ,you can keep half. is that fair?? or we can both try my 997S at a mosport lapping event and the slower driver pays the other $10,000?? is that fair for you? you seem to be determined to be right so lets stop pissing about""

They are all called "supercup" cars...it's been the name of the series in Germany since 1993. So Rick's 2000 is a GT3 cup. I don't know what updates it has had, but the differences between a 2000 and 2004 are certainly not revolutionary. The 1998-1999s had the taco wing, so that would have been a disadvantage.

That 2000 Supercup car is a factory 2000 GT3 cup car.....it has since been sold. We now have an 05 GT3 Cup car we are renting.....all the HP, all the big brakes and all the Aero you will need to put down a 1:24....

By the time I responded, it looked like you had agreed to rent a cup and come to the mosport race. Did I misread that?

we can do both.
byt the way i think all you PCA racers need to review some lap times....if Acura RSX front wheel drive cars can do 1.30 and mazda 6 can do 1.29...why cant you believe a well prepped GT3 street car cant get down to 1.30 or less regardless of driver???? YOU DONT GIVE YOUR BELOVED PORSCHE MUCH CREDIT
Espenlaub spoiled an Acura 1-4 with his second-place effort in the No. 97 Sparco/Oakley/Tindol Motorsport Mazda 6, turning a fastest lap of 1:29.904 (98.465 mph) to make his second appearance on the front row in 2005. In 2004, Espenlaub recorded a career-best finish of second place at Mosport after starting 28th. his teammate Davis, Curran, who won the most recent SCCA SPEED Touring Car race in Denver, set his fastest time on the first-flying lap in his No. 45 A-SPEC/RealTime Racing Acura RSX with a 1:30.115 (98.234 mph). Four-time Mosport winner Pierre Kleinubing was fourth in his A-SPEC/RealTime Racing Acura TSX with a time of 1:30.134, followed by point leader Peter Cunningham in his similar mount, with a 1:30.156.
