Old thread, but I haven't seen this info so here it goes:

OEM header and cat combined: 20lb per side (one is 11lb and one is 9lb but I can't remember which was which).

Together with the 28lb per side for the mufflers, thats a total of 48lb per side for the complete oem exhaust.

I've just installed the DesignTek Predator exhaust (comes only as a complete system), that is 24lb per side (header, cat, muffler, tip).

What's the consensus on the implications of removing the aluminium impact bars and shocks behind the bumpers ?

Have many done it ?

So no negative impact on body stiffness from a suspension geometry perspective then?

Won't affect body stiffness at all but u need tow hooks and drill slots thru front/rear bumper that is bolted to one of the holes that bolted the crash bumpers. Most if not all are placed on passenger side front/rear. I have rss tow hooks. Mike

I would not remove the bumper bars. They're there for a reason and the .01 seconds you gain around the track are definitely not worth the increased damage from being rear-ended.
