Something like 3,020 lbs with no fuel. Pretty light indeed.

Mine weighs 2,850 with no fuel, and 8.5"/11" BBS Racing wheels. Full Interior.

It weighed 2,760 lbs at the 2006 SCCA Solo Nationals, but it was missing all the carpets, passenger seats, door panels, rear quarter panels, glovebox and three airbags.

With a good deck lid, front fenders and hood, you can get under 2,800 lbs with a full interior. If A/C is not needed, make it 2,750 lbs (no fuel).

Thanks -
Interesting, i am looking at a GT-3 as my next car purchase (street, but you know how that goes).
that would make the 3 about 7:1 hp/lb ratio.... which is very good (at 400 hp/2800lbs)

i am at 2584 in street trim currently in the cup (1/2 tank, all stock body parts, Heavy wheels) where i am at 9.9:1-ish

I need to reduce some weight. I came in with a near empty tank of gas at over 3300 pounds including myself 165 pounds during the club race this weekend at gman. I won the race, and was weighed, the scrut said that i had set the lap record and hoped that I was over weight cause they would have to DQ me if i was not. I got a bit worried but came out way over the 3070 pound limit. I want to strip about 100 pounds from the car, but since I DD the car its hard for me to do a lot of the things I listed....here is what I was thinking.....

Things I have done to reduce weight
Forgeline wheels
Recaro Euro GT3 Seats
Fabspeed Muffler bypass pipes..

Things I added that add weight:
DAS sport roll bar
harnesses
window net
battery cut off
lap timer
fire extinguisher

I was thinking I should do:
Cat bypass pipes(but with my muffler bypass pipes this may be unbareable)
get lightweight battery
remove tool box(didnt even know we had one)
drain washer fluid before each race
remove trunk carpeting....

muffler bypass + cat bypass tested here. So loud, that the car will fall in pieces in a matter of minutes.

Try: 24 lb lighter battery, lighter springs, lighter shocks, lighter rotors, lighter wheels, center console delete, front trunk liners, washer fluid (7 lbs), floor mats.

There is a lot more to be done. My street car weighs 2,860 lbs with an almost empty fuel tank. With the Cup LSD, RSR R&P and the fat rear tires, it does a good job keeping up with race cars.

do you have a roll bar or cage? curious

lighter springs.. like going to 6" from 8" springs? not using tenders?

moton/jrz use aluminum bodied rear shocks but how about the front? my front motons struts appear to be steel (i guess it's because they are struts).

LWF. i'm sure it's been mentioned but it can save close to 20 lbs.

I did the center console(forgot to add that), car is setup with motons so springs and what not cant be changed anymore, floor mats were out, I have 997 cup rotors.... I am having a hard time taking anything else out and staying within specs...i might have 5 pounds I can physically lose haha.

Did you ever decibel check with cat and muffler bypass? Is it really that unbareable...i mean the car with muffler bypass pipes is already very loud, how much worse can it get

get some custom earplugs to lessen the sound of the cat+muffler bypass

not sure if the cup rotors are the lightest. are they not 1 piece steel? the 2 piece floating had models from AP, brembo, alcon, etc., save you a few lbs of rotating mass per corner.

wish I could do them, but they are not legal for staying in B stock so unfortunetely I can not put them on.

B-Stock PCA Club Racing: You should target for 2,900 lbs with almost no fuel, but not possible within the rules, unless you have a good budget to fabricate custom lightweight body parts on metal.

A/C delete, Braille Battery, naked trunk, PCCB will not get you there. You still need lighter wheels (BBS Racing Mg), lighter tires (Hoosier R6). Lexan Rear and side windows help a little, Cup steering wheel (bye airbag).

I kept notes on measurements from various sources. The accuracy of the weight scales used and the actual amount of fuel in the car are key variables.

3107 lb - for a stock 2004-2005 996 GT3 North America Specification, with air conditioning, no fuel, no driver, no floor mats, no options (Calculated)

Using accurate and proper weight range scales, I measured the following items.

8 lb - OEM standard 996 GT3 wing, Measured

7 lb - OEM 996 GT3 RS carbon fiber wing, Measured

53 lb - one 996 GT3 rear wheel with new Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 N2 tire (stock size), Measured

.
