I woke up this morning thinking, "it's Thursday, today is the season finale of KK and the Tranny!" Amazing! Great ending. Bravo and congratulations! Love the pics.

First and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so glad to hear you didn't give up on this beautiful machine!
To everyone (including myself, because I'm NOT mechanically inclined like many on the 996 Rennlist forum) this is a lesson learned BIG time. That is, if I ever have a problem like this, I"m going to get a second and even a third opinion. I won't let some shady shop hold my car hostage and act like they know what they're doing only to charge me top dollar to completely destroy a very good, working transmission. Instead, contact local PCA clubs and ask for great mechanics that can properly and accurately diagnose the problem without replacing unnecessary parts at my expense.
And so my theory was right?... both transmissions were good and this was NOT a "Burned up" transmission and torque converter?
So our questions are:
1. Are you going to be meeting with Dennis in order to present the findings and hopefully recover some of the money he charged you?
2. Get a Lawyer and sue for the full amount if he refuses
3. Or, chalk it up as a "lesson learned" and move on with life and possibly resell the transmission in the future
4. Have someone reassemble the transmission and ship it to Kalash for more shirtless pictures?
Again, congrats to the best thread I've ever read on rennlist!!!

Congrats KK! Sorry to see you had to pay with the shirt off your back!
Glad it worked out. I don't know what I would do with those extra parts, maybe even recycle them as the cost to put them back together will not exceed the value most likely.
Put this behind you and just drive the car like you stole it!

The pictures are epic. Really setting a high bar here for the rest of us to keep up. I can't help but think that this is the difference between us and the 997 owners, lol. This will also not be the last time they are posted, for sure!
Enjoy the car!

Note that if you live in Greensboro, NC, you have to detail your car with Raid.
Congrats on getting back on the road.
I'm contacting the Mods because I definitely see nipples...
