I think we are at least as excited about the end of this tranny trip as KK based on the posting here.

Just said **** it and left my Mustang at his shop today because I wanted to pick my Cab up so bad. Car is running like it did the day I bought it. Shifter feels normal, all the gears work, and I even have some new ants taking residence within the body panels. Lol

Gabe looked at the transmission pieces and didn't really see any significant wear anywhere. He pointed out where Dennis told him the gears were all burnt up on the teeth of the planetary. Gabe scrubed a section a little and it was just oil.

Of all 25 something clutch discs, only two showed even slight signs of wear. Unlikely enough to cause slipping.

Gabe theorized the molded plastic piece that holds the shifter cable sleeve was sheared off from someone failing to disconnect the cable prior to dropping the transmission.

I theorize that ^ could have potentially happened when the engine was replaced after the IMSB failed.

BTW, now is the time to change your username.
To something less polarizing.

WTF AND WTF?????

First, the first mechanic did a real number without doing a proper diagnosis. I can't believe he took apart that tranny like that.

Second, I didn't think you'd go through with the Kalashnikov pose request. Obviously you needed a couple beers at least and you're probably euphoric about getting your ride back in top running condition again.

Anywho, glad you got everything fixed.

P.S. Be prepared for those two shots to define you here on RL for eternity.

How did you get Kalash to pose in your car?

Congrats KK, I am glad you got this sorted out and car is running!

Props on the pictures. This thread is now definitely in the "legendary" status.

Now everyone who posted in this thread needs to do their own version of the picture too, with your own beer choice. I am reserving Warsteiner for myself.

That would be preferable to keep the authenticity going, but not required.

JI is allowed to keep his Brie in the picture too.
