The usual suspects for air leak such as the intake plenum, intake hose and all those big hose clamps. Do you have Durametric? If the codes develop, you will have to do more in-depth checking with Durametric.

I do but it crapped out on me and keeps giving me errors communicating messages. I'll have to write to their support line...

Check fuse B1 and pin 16 of the OBDII port and make sure it has +12v with key ON engine OFF.

and i see some other codes pending also...these are new p0300, p0301, p0304

I thought there was some slight stumble going on while cruising around 3k rpm.

I really need to get my durametric working

So they are all misfire codes of some flavor. I don't know much about the ECU on these cars does it take some time to relearn for the larger engine bore and various mods?

I'm thinking because the MIL was triggered by the 1st ones i had (p0171 p0174) that i am still looking at a vacuum leak somewhere.

You need at least an OBDII scanner that can read sensor values in real-time to track the following:
- Coolant temp
- MAF
- Short term fuel trim (RKAT in Durametric)
- Long term fuel trim (FRA in Durametric)
- Voltage of all 4 O2 sensors

FYI, I had to restore my laptop to factory default Windows load and reinstall Durametric software to get it working again. You might try it on another machine if you have something you can drag out there.

My garage found the leak. Unfortunately he is recommending I drop the engine to fix it. I'm not sure that's necessary.

He is spraying around where the intake manifold meets the block and the car's idle drops as soon as brake clean is sprayed in that area.

Get VirtualBox (free) and run Windows in a VM specifically for Durametric. Much less hassle when something happens as you don't have to blow away your personal stuff. Also means that whatever you do to the desktop OS is much less likely to screw with the Dura install

Good idea. I'm using a spare Surface II pro that needed to be wiped anyway but it makes sense to have 996 VM for the collection of outdated tools I'm amassing.
