Thanks 808Bill and Cuda! I'm enjoying every minute of it too.

Schell, that 10min is interesting. It shows you the order that the parta go on. However, since the camera didn't move, you're missing like 70% of the action. A cool video none the less.

I only work on the engine a couple of hr a day only when I'm free so it's not gonna be fast. I also do a lot of checking so that slow things down a lot too. I'm in no hurry so it's ok.

There is a new product available to engine rebuilders that may solve a significant(?) problem.
It is offered by Vertex who claim (verbatum ) to "have created the bearing support that eliminates future RMS leaks and reinforces crankshaft support"
See Post #18 here:

Maybe too late for Duncan's build but useful for the many others who follow and use this excellent thread as a guide?
JR subsequently commented that he did not consider the 'product' useful in the thread linked above. What a relief, we don't have to dismantle the newly rebuilt engine to fit it !

Default IMS Solution installed

Center nut torqued to 16 ftlb (mid way between 12 and 20).

The new SPOFA with the correct orientation.

IMS side connection

Seems like the hose could have been an inch shorter? Really need to see how everything goes in place after the engine is put back into the car.

Default Injectors Cleaned

Yeah, I also sent out the injectors for ultrasonic cleaning and flow testing.

The old filters and o-rings of the injectors

Shorten it? -4, -6? Hard to tell from the pic.

I would be putting a piece of fuel line over that hose where it almost touches the block. Stainless hose is extremely abrasive.

I'll probably need to adjust the angle of the blue elbow fitting a bit once I put the engine back in the car. I don't want the hose to dangle too low though.

Default Crank pulley bolt

Torqued to 37ftlb + 90 degrees. Final torque is somewhere between 125 to 150 ftlb, not as high as I anticipated.

Looks good, you are almost done. Now I need to get my butt in gear and start putting mine back together. Thanks for documenting yours, it will help others in the future.

Thanks Imre!

Someone said photos?

IMSS hose adjusted to get more clearance

Seldom see this angle. My engine stand came with 4 arms. I added one more to spread the stress/load. Love this engine stand, very sturdy and stable.
