It's a 997, but there may be potential here depending on the engine health: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto...050868464.html

Side bar Ques: Probability of success? .. Friend wants to find/buy a 996 coupe, MT, in a bright color (white good too), under 80k miles, IMS, RMS, well maintained,.. for around the $25k mark?
even though the title of this thread is for CL ads,... I'm guessing you guys post Opps from other marketplaces too

It looks like somebody took some care of it, to make it less wrecked that it really is (if you look carefully, you can notice that the airbag cover is also open in the "second" car). Also, the emergency brake handle was changed...
Or... it had two different crashes... but they show...exactly the same number of miles
It is really weird.

I've tried to buy that car a few times but have been unable to speak to anybody about it. It is significantly wrecked indeed, and it "feels" like something shady is going on as noted by others. The passenger air bag cover seems to have been messed with as well, and front tub is shifted to the side. In some pictures, you can see underbody damage to the opposite rear corner also. Anyway, with clean history/lower mileage GT2s seemingly selling in the $70s, that car doesn't make a whole lot of sense at $45k+.

If you watch Samcrac on youtube, he mentions this stuff in a few different videos when he is advertising one of the services he uses that lets you put in the VIN and find the auction history of the car.
