Need a basic price. Comes with hardtop, tip, decent number of options but nothing sporty. Int is clean and the shop is working on the top right now. It doesn't go up and latch well. They will finish it before it leaves the lot. Has a clear bra, and clean carfax. 72k miles, engine sounds perfect, trans shifts smooth.
I was thinking about $18,500 or so. They rejected $18k, and came back with $19,600 plus fees.
Yeah, I saw that one a few days ago. It is definitely a candidate. Love the mileage and the sport seats. Not crazy about the wheels - they remind of lobster fork OEM wheels. The front bumperettes are hideous, but I think they will come off easily. It is priced well, but not cheap for a 2001. I would have to go all the way to the top of my comfort range to get it, plus the seller would need to come down about $2,500. If I go up to $36k, I really don't want to compromise much or be looking to replace wheels. At the moment, I've got 2 cars in the garage that need to go, one of which requires some significant wrenching. I could pull the trigger now for the right deal (for example this car at $32k) but would be a happier wife if I sold the other 2 cars first.
If anyone is in Reno and wants to do a Rennfax on it for me . . .
EDIT: Would be great to see more and better pics of the car than what autotrader has on its site.

^ On that one, the reason I didn't post it here is because I am interested in it.
I just got back from vacation, so I'm a little backed up at work at the moment. Plus, when I buy whatever 996TT, I'm 99% certain I'll fly out and drive it home, so that'll be 3 or 4 days out of the office. Plus, my son just left for college and left me the 2 extra cars to sell on my own. Plus, letting the car sit on the market without a buyer may soften up the seller's price a bit. Plus, it's been my experience that October/November/December are the time of year to get the best prices. So, all of those factors together tell me to wait a little while, unless I see a smoking deal on a nearly ideal car.
If everything went my way, the car would still be on the market in mid to late October, I'd get it for around $34k and fly out/drive home the week of November 1st.

Doc,
If you don't get it let me know...I love Arena Red.
Also, do you have any opinion on the black cab on Dallas CL that is offered for $17K--don't have link handy, but can get it.

I didn't get it. We are getting a truck so I"m gonna wait a bit. I also really like Arena red, and this one has the hardtop in same color as well. It's pretty nice overall. Let me know if you want me to take it for a run.
I don't shop for black cars, but I'll check it out today.

Thanks. With 928 going/gone, I've got $$ burning a hole in my pocket, but I should probably slow down. I had been focused on a Boxster S, but a buddy who has a 996 reminded me of how much fun I had driving his during a visit a few years back...so now I'm not sure WHAT I want!
I'll pass on the Arena Red one for now but thanks for the offer to check on it and the cheap black car. Too soon after the S4 to fall for the first pretty face I run into. I should go into the other 996 forums and start getting educated first!
BTW, I *really* like Rubik's car--especially the maintenance history.
