Say "turbo" three times fast.

Hard to find a non black/silver/gray example. This'll do.

My browser isn't showing me the CarFax report, but that car looks familiar.

This winter I went and looked at one that color with the factory aero wing here in VA. It was being listed for less than this, but when I looked at it it turned out to be an absolute dog. For what's being asked for here it could have been picked up and gotten some good lipstick and still make a bit of profit.

I'm sure it's a different car, but I didn't even know there was an aero package for the TT until I saw that dog. Haven't seen another since either. So two cars with the same non-typical color combo and rare aero package? Coincidences do happen...

If this car has a Virginia registration (in the DC area) in the last year or two (we register for 2years) I would get a trusted and hard PPI done to it first. If this is the same car, it's likely a giant train wreck (like that 40th AE fiasco we saw come through and blow up in the buyer's face level train wreck).

Edit: Found the VIN for the one I looked at, this wasn't it. If you find WP0AB29942S685509 I suggest a very detailed PPI (assuming it has a new owner that will let you PPI it!).

Seems a fair price for a 4S you can just enjoy without having to worry about scratching etc - assuming maintenance is up to date.

This one is down the road from me (actually I think it may even be in my neighborhood based on the pics...). If someone wants a Rennfax with Durametric read out, PM me to coordinate something.

Yeah for the miles and tip that feels a bit high to me. It appears to look good for the miles though.

I could also do a Rennfax on this one for an interested party, but it is a bit out of the way.

Next time you do a Rennfax in the area let me know, I might tag along - two 996s turning up to check out the vehicle might have a suitably intimidating effect on the seller (and price)

Hello Rennlisters,

Newbie here. Long time Porsche fan, looking to expand the stable with a 996.2. Of the cars currently for sale in the Bay Area there are a couple that caught my eye in particular.

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/5699415964.html
2004 C2, 97k miles, 6 speed, 2 owners asking $20k
Still on the original clutch and IMS/RMS.

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/5695962065.html
2004 C2, 84k miles, 6 speed, 1 owner, asking $20k
I have not been able to reach the owner yet so no idea whether the IMS has been addressed and/or clutch is still original.

Naturally I would let a qualified shop do a PPI before making a final decision but your thoughts would be greatly appreciated as well.

In the mean time, here is a picture of my Miata as a means of a friendly introduction.

^^^
Just bought my first Porsche over the weekend, a 1999 996...and I too am a former owner of not one, but two FI'd Miata's.

Both examples above look great...go drive them and check them out!

LOVE the slate grey on that first car. Nice list of options, too.

I like that the 97k example has "Original Porsche car cover to protect car from dusk when parked."

Dusk can really mess up a paint job.

Poke me, I'd make it three. Need to add some color so it doesn't look like the 996 mafia is rolling up.
