I'll hate me too...until I get to the DE. Then I'll wonder how I waited so long. Let's discuss the housing arrangements on SCR.

George, misery loves company. And if this is misery, then I could be in misery every day. Lovin it!! Sorry Bob, didn't mean to steal your line, but it fit. Sounds like we may have enough for 2 villas.
George, now we really start the "mind games" for the upcoming DE. The SCR group will have you prepared for the big event!!! Congratulations.

Hey George,

I've got nothing against the dealer except for their outrageous pricing. Surely you can find someone else that you can trust to do this for you, for less money? European Performance, perhaps? Years, many years ago, I had a rollbar installed in my C4 Corvette - now the dealership is beyond useless for stuff like that, so I ended up taking it to Peter Krause's shop in NW Raleigh. He's an Alfa & Ferrari guy but he did it for me, no sweat. Well, he did complain about all the fiberglass dust in the shop...

Point is - you should be able to find someone else. Or, we should all get together after coffee and do it ourselves! I've got a sawzall we can use... anyone here got a welder?

Agree with Michael, get European to do it. IIRC, when European did my install they charged me something like 2 hours.

Some friends of mine are toying around with the idea of opening a shop aimed at 996s.

European does a pretty good job too. I purchased my 911 from them and they have serviced it before.

George, with all the money you are saving, now you can join us for more HPDEs. Possibly suspension work down the road as well, wing, it goes on and on and on. Glad to have you join us.

Remember George, when talking with the wife about the Porsche, its always 'a couple hundred...', and leave it at that.

We have enough garages in the mix now - we can start our own UUC

Not a very good business idea if are trying to make money. A shop is not exactly a cash cow. Especially when a good chunk of guys know how to work on their own 996 (easy to moderate DIY items). It also helps to have a friend with a lift and the proper tools
