I removed the helper spring yesterday. Not too bad but do remove the vent duct.
I LOVE IT! The car has a whole different personality. Feels like a Porsche again.
As to the cruise control, gently, GENTLY, extend the plunger so it meets the revised pedal position. In my case it took two clicks. Everything work perfectly.
Best mod yet to my 996.

I'm very happy with the improved "feel" using the McMaster spring, but I have an annoying - and barely audible - click sound as the clutch pedal comes up. For others of you using this spring, is this common? If so, does it go away over time? And now that doing this mod is familiar and I'm guessing much easier the 2nd time, is there a suspected cause and solution?

Would anyone be willing to help out an Irish 996 owner 
McMaster dont seem to post international, I'd be greatful and will pay all costs if a member would mail a spring to a friend of mine in Tenessee.
I'm visiting him in two weeks and can bring home myself.
