I went to a car show today, Cars for Kacie. It was pretty chilly early but warmed up a bit as the day went on. Lots of cars and trucks, mostly American. Also a substantial number of pickups apparently in competition to see which can be furthest from the ground, have the largest diameter exhaust, and fly the tallest flagpole. Here's a few shots of things I found interesting.

Very clean looking aircooled

The paint on this car was astounding as was everything else

Lovely little slant nose

How to arrive at a car show

This Tiger gets used! Look at that brake dust

Uhmm...

This is perfection for me. Maybe I'd just loose those fog lights under the bumper.

Met up with few guys from the office at a local C&C too. I've set up a "petrolheads" Slack channel at work where we can nerd out during work and go on drives together.

These two cars were the winners for me this weekend:

GT4 converted to GT4.5 via Deman Motorsports motor and transmission upgrade. 4.5L flat six with 550ish HP on 98 octane with custom gearing. The owner said he eats GT3s on track, especially on straightaways. The car had a Miami Blue wrap on it. I think the motor alone is about a $50k upgrade, which technically is not horrible when comparing some M96 rebuilds out there.

993 Guntherworks. You know the front is wider but seeing it in pereson...wow. Engine and the whole set up is art.

I'm not sure to be honest. Not an expert on these motors. All I know is that it was a 400HP 4.0L with ITBs and a 996 GT3 intake plenum / manifold. Sounded incredible. You can also see the JRZ remote reservoirs for rear coilovers.

Yes, check out this Pelican how-to and you can see how it all fits in there.

Do you have any other pics of that Tiger? My brother has a 1966 Tiger in what might possibly be the same color (Commodore Blue). He just had it repainted in original Commodore Blue paint and we spent a long time trying to find a sample of Commodore Blue to model off of. The paint codes on record, from the only paint manufacturer that have it, were very far off. It would be great to have see more photos of that Tiger if you have them.

His Tiger is a hoot to drive -- it's a tiny British sports car, and the burble of that V8 coming out of it shocks everyone around. The 260 CI definitely a torque master with a low redline. The original performance specs for the 260 weren't that impressive, but it's got all the power I'd want for that chassis.

That is a pretty cool truck but it looks like he did the opposite of me. It looks like they swapped a hdt cab onto a medium duty wrecker, as i swaped a medium duty wrecker bed onto my heavy duty truck. Either way its a lot cleaner then my rig.

Hope the guy is OK.

Strong case for why everyone should go thru a couple of track sessions with an instructor. Only way to truly learn the cars characteristics at higher speeds and how to control it.

Default Synthetic Fuel Is A Reality

Good video on emissions neutral synthetic fuel. Not only is it a reality today with racing, but it will end up fueling the next generation of street driven Hybrids (ICE + EV).

Well, a group of German “scientists” who are “concerned about the climate” glued their hands to the floor of the Porsche pavilion exhibit hall in Wolfsburg, Germany. However, the boys and girls were taught a lesson in basic hard science when the heat and lights were turned off as a precaution to restrict “glued scientists” from vandalizing several hundred thousand dollars worth of new Porsches. The “glued scientists” must have become further agitated at Porsche once they realized that they could not order food, bedtime stories, or even provide the means to relieve their bladders and had to endure the random checks by flashlight security guards. It now looks like Porsche has not only become a world manufacturer of prestigious vehicles but is now a teacher to unruly children.....

Default Cars and coffee at Einers in Houston

Went with a good friend to cars and coffee. Met a few more people and turn out was great. In the afternoon my buddy and I went for some authentic Chinese food and we spent a while just talking about life. We went in the 99, the turbo is currently sitting at a garage as the oil change outfit removed some tranny bolts and the detent ball and spring fell inside the transmission. The gear shifter is stuck and the transmission has to come out. Been making some mean kitchen sink tacos lately.

Big turnout parking lot was full.

Love that ducktail in the 07 Carrera S.

05 Carrera S Fabspeed exhaust evolution Motorsports intake low mileage car looks to be in pretty good shape.

Family style Chinese, the fried rice had pineapple and pork belly. We also ordered some pan seared dumplings, good pretty authentic food.

Fried catfish tacos, refried beans, Mexican cheese, krinkle cut French fries, chopped lettuce avocado jalapeño crema sauce.

Ribeye tacos, cotiza cheese, chicken fajitas, caramelized onion, refried beans queso de cabrá. old El Paso chunky hot sauce on top,
