Finally had a beautiful day here in Michigan. Decided to pull her out of the garage and get the fluids moving around a bit. Still trying to figure out the ride height and get the car dialed in the way I want. I actually made several adjustments to the car after I took these today. Can’t wait to get my new wheels on the car to really set it all off.
This ia my 99 Cable Car that i purchased in 2018 and have been building it in a small rented garage. I have one outlet in the ceiling that can't support an air compressor so I painted it with aerosol cans. I love all Porsches but the 996 was the 911 for me. I had a poster of one in High School. I really love the 70s outlaws, classic club sport cars and wanted to incorporate that into my car. I have done a lot of work on it making it my own. I'm sure my taste are not for everyone but it wasn't built for anyone other than me and I'm in love.
I love the passion behind your project. 👍🏼

This is super clean. Like it very much. What suspension set up did you go with and what are the wheels that are coming? Ride height is pretty personal I think and yours is bang on in the photo. Depending on what your roads look like I'd raise the front ever so slightly. Rear looks perfect to me.
Garage19builds love your car love the execution true 996 outlaw!!!
please give me details on your front bumper and where you got the high class outlaws stickers
Mike

I went with Feal 441+ coilovers with the Swift springs, upper mount bearings, and custom rates and valving. My wheels are going to be Fikse Profile 5S. I am having trouble sourcing the rear inner barrels I want right now, but eventually the set will be 18x9 ET40 and 18x11.5 ET61. Will be running Nankang CR-S tires with 245/40/18 fronts, and 315/30/18 rears. I ended up brining the front of the car up about 3/8" from these pictures. It helped balance the look out better. I really won't know my final settings until I get my new wheels on the car.

I thought you did some accent with aerosol cans until I watched the video.
Wow, great job working with just aerosol cans.
I especially like the roundels with 96(especially in the back) and "911 Carrera" on the rear deck.
Nice job!
Nice clean looking garage too!

Speed Yellow always looks nice!
I want to bring my front bumper up just a bit.
My back is higher than my front, which I do like, but mine is too high.
I think if I lower mine in back, it will bring up the front bumper slightly.
Nice to be easy to change height with coilovers!

It's one of those things where you stare at the car for the next 6-12 months and constantly assess what would look/work better. Now my goal is to get the rest of the arms and bushings perfectly dialed in and feeling the way I want. I will say the Feal coilovers have already transformed the car. I was on nearly brand new Koni adjustables with stock springs and this feels significantly sharper. You can feel the car digging into the corners. I have the front and rear both set to 15 clicks as a starting point. I will adjust as I get a better sense of how the car is reacting.
Likely my last “picture” of my 996.2 here:
(Next pictures should be at home in a couple of days. Other than the pictures I take while tracking it on its way home)
